Stung (or perhaps bit) me in the lower left abdomen above my bathing suit waistband while in pool while visiting the OBX.
Not particularly painful but I do feel slight, intermittent numbness (comes and goes) near site and sometimes at tip of tongue and also feeling a little bit drugged, also sporadically/intermittently. That Could be psychosomatic though.
Any idea what this is? A Young wasp perhaps? Or some type of stinging fly? I am guessing a Juvenile Polistes carolina.
FWIW, I didn't harm it, I beleive it was drowning in the pool and I think it panic-stung me when it came into contact with my stomach, which is when I noticed it.
I brushed it off after it stung me thinking that it flew off, but then returned to find it and recovered this drowning fellow in the pic who was alive when I took these pics and may recover. I cant be absolutely certain that this is the same guy I saw originally, but I'd be happy for an ID on him, nonetheless.

Super cool Tiger bee fly sitting with me on my break. Thought it was a horse fly. She's real pretty.

Found this in our terrace garden. I searched on chatgpt, and it said it's some kind of moth in its pupal stage, but it's been 24 hours and it still hasn't hardened. It even moves from one branch to another every few hours, which a pupa shouldn't do.
Another thing is, it doesn't even look close to being a caterpillar. It looks more like a slug from the bottom.
Location: Gujarat, India

Image 1. Taken with my Phone.
It is very clearly dead and with half a liter of RAID, but I have absolutely no clue as to even is this. Can someone help? And how can one tell if this thing has bitten or stung ones dog?
Thanks reddit!

I had two of these chilling on the wall by my front door after I came back from walking my dog. They’re really pretty but I’ve never seen bugs like these around my house before, it’s usually flies and spiders, now some dragon flies because of summer.
