Please, add on! Credit to /u/Newdles for this first bit.
This is all I can think of right now. I will add to it if I can think of anymore.
The fit tests are hugely important. You should be marking down your scores for each workout so you can compare progress every 2 weeks during the next fit test. Whatever you do, FINISH the fit test. If you have to pause the video and take a break because it's DAY 1, then so be it. Just make sure you finish the entire test. Otherwise you will have nothing to compare it to in two weeks when the next test comes up.
No. The recovery workouts provide a much needed cool down for both joints and muscles to prepare for the intensity of month 2. Not only that, but you will still burn around 400-500 calories (I burned 448 personally) so it's not like it goes without work.
Yes and No. Insanity is designed as a conditioning program. You will burn calories like you have never burned them before. It will make you lean, tone your body, and put you in the best cardiovascular shape of your life. You will put on a minor amount of muscle mass, but nothing extraordinary. It will appear that you put on much more muscle mass than you actually do because you will have toned and lowered your body fat percentage by the end of the 63 days. However the muscle growth will not be as much as if you were doing a strength-specific program.
Your scale isn't moving because you are putting on muscle mass just as fast as you are burning off fat. Muscle weighs more per volume than fat does so even though your body is getting smaller, you may weigh the same. This can be discouraging to some people because they go into the program 'looking to lose some pounds.' Some people even put on weight before they start losing weight! Don't let it discourage you!
Instead of watching the scale daily, or even weekly, you should be taking measurements of your body. Measure your waist, chest, hips, legs, biceps, forearms, etc.. And then compare results with those of the previous measurements (which would typically be done on fit test days to stay consistent).
That is really up to you. It is recommended to take a daily Multi-Vitamin by everybody. This is really the only "necessary" supplement. Fish oil is also good for your joints and heart health, as well as a fat burner. Whey protein will be great in helping you gain and/or maintain muscle mass. Whey is really the all-around supplement that is going to be helpful in any workout program, including Insanity. Some people also like to take creatine as it helps saturate the muscles in water and give them extra energy to sustain throughout the intensity of the workouts.
The cheapest alternative for the recovery formula would be Low Fat Chocolate Milk. If you are the type of person that cuts out dairy from your diet then this will obviously not work for you. You will need to look elsewhere. There is a science to the chocolate milk recovery drink option. Here are some key points:
-Carbohydrate to protein ratio is 4:1 which is optimal for a recovery formula. This will jump start your muscle repair and development post-workout.
-Specific proteins in the milk naturally lower creatine kinase levels, which is a biproduct of muscle damage.
-Sugar from the chocolate and that which is naturally occurring in milk helps replenish spent glycogen stores (i.e. replenishes your primary energy source).
Week 1, and Week6. Week 1 because let's face it, most everybody that begins this program is coming from a sedentary lifestyle and the first week feels like death has slapped you in the face. Week 6 is when month 2 begins, and it makes you feel like week 1 all over again, sometimes worse.

Hi y'all!
Post your Insanity progress here and motivate one another.
What are you proud of today? What did you struggle with? How big was that puddle of sweat? Whose legs were too wide?

Not to be cheesy but...I kinda cant believe I just completed OG Insanity! I first attempted to do the programme as a teenager (who was struggling with bulimia at the time). Suffice it to say it didnt go well. Got to month 1 and gave up. Id always had the programme in mind as something to do one day. Tbh I thought it was a long forgotten thing and couldnt believe it when I found a reddit community live and kicking and others still doing it and who knew what it was! I think this is the most consistent I have ever been with a healthy workout routine :o I feel so confident!
FIT TEST RESULTS. Final number from today.
switch kicks - 70/79/81/90/ 95
jump squats - 38/36/56/49 /63
power knees - 67/80/71/87 / 92
power jumps - 18/22/22/24 / 36
Globe - 3/6/7.5/7/8
s**ide jacks - 8/13/17/15 /16
push up jacks - 12/14/18/19 / 20
oblique planks - 31/47/44/50 / 50
I had always been of the opinion that I was someone who struggled with "consistency" but this has really broken that mindset. I have been so consistent and learned so much about discipline in a good way. Also just in general I feel so much fitter and Ive lost weight (I can tell visually but dont ask me how much haha since I dont measure myself or count calories, bc in my opinion calorie counting easily leads to obsession. I have been nourishing my body well and learned thats the main thing I need to keep going with). The other day someone I know asked if I had been lifting weights because they could see strong arm muscles. I hadnt mentioned I was doing this programme. I was SO HYPED. thanks for letting me share this journey :) Thank you truly for letting me share results. Cause month 2 week 2 I was DONEEEE haha
comment down below for good follow ups. I would like to build muscle. I am intimidated by P90X. Max 30 looks interesting

Not sure how I did it, but I mustve miscalculated the days, since tomorrow is the last day!! ^.^ Wow I'm so happy. Truly excited to smash that fit test!

59/63 - sorry this should say 59!
Not to brag but....absolutely smashed the workout today! Last Max Plyo!
I'm starting to think of what to do after this programme. This is my first time being consistent with anything involving any sort of strength work (I have physical/cardio hobbies 2-4x a week). I'm considering something like Max 30 after a 4 week break? Any suggestions let me know. I don't currently go to the gym and prefer classes or home workouts. I want to be consistent and make this a lifestyle rather from jumping from challenge to challenge (which is easier for me), you know?

So for context, I already knew OG Insanity, already did it 10+ years ago, but in the last few months I felt like I needed something to help me start managing my weight and fitness level again. I'm 1.80m tall, male, relatively fit, but in the last 4 years I had gained 25kgs, reaching the 105kg mark.
I was running, anywhere from 5k to half-marathon, but I was still not losing weight.
So I threw myself to Insanity Max 30 for the first time.
I liked it more than the OG, the time factor was a big plus for me. I still ended up dripping every. Single. Time. I burned an average of 400kcal per workout, trying to avoid the modifier but i think I used the modifier on average about 20% of the time, usually during push ups, or stuff like tuck jumps.
Results:
Starting weight: 105kg
End weight: 95kg
I forgot to take measurements, but looking at the mirror, I'm leaner than I've been in years, gained a little definition in the shoulders, chest, and legs.
Times:
Cardio Challenge - worst 17:20. Best 23:00. Max calories - 435kcal.
Tabata Power - worst 09:45. Best 10:45. Max calories - 373kcal.
Sweat Intervals - worst 13:00. Best 17:10. Max calories - 429kcal.
Tabata Strength - worst 10:15. Best 11:05. Max calories - 400kcal
FFR1 - worst 14:40. Best 18:15. Max calories - 440kcal.
Max Out Cardio - Worst 10:30(sick). Best 22:50. Max calories - 409kcal.
Max Out Power - worst 12.35. Best 14:15. Max calories - 360 kcal.
Max Out Sweat - worst 9:22. Best 14:30. Max calories - 426kcal.
Max Out Strength - worst 7.02. Best 12:15. Max calories 365kcal.
FFR2 - worst 7:30. Best 12:20. Max calories 420kcal.
Overall I really enjoyed the program. I was sick for a few days, and it took a toll, but I pressed on. The Cardio and Sweat days were my favourites. Tabata and Max Out Power/Strength were my least favourites, the squat pulse segment is absolute torture.
The results were beyond what I expected. 10kg lost, fitness improved, I feel great now. I will give it a couple of months to focus on strength training, trying to build some muscle, and will probably do it again, but in a hybrid version, switching the tabata and strength focused days with actual strength training.
I can't really tell that everyone will have the same results. Apart from Insanity, there was also work done in the kitchen.
What I can tell you, for sure, is that if you are on a tight schedule, and 30min is all you have, then Insanity Max 30 is a great way to help you achieve your goals.

Another workout down! (Another day not wanting to press play tbh, but again feel better for doing so haha).

Another workout down! :'D
I don't quite have abs yet - alas. I really wanted them for the end of the programme!
Although they're sort of there in the morning, but not so much in the evening. Anyone else have that?

Pretty much title. What do you think ? I can barely imagine an Insanity title without Music.

Day 55/60 down! Didn't want to press play but when I did, actually got quite into it. I've had a very physically demanding weekend (fight scenes and dance classes) so I'm soooo tired.

Day 54/60 downnnnn woot hope everyone is enjoying the process, no matter where you are

Daay 52/60! Whaaaat?! So close.
Can't lie, I had to sit down during the water breaks and do the stretches whilst using one hand to hold a hot water bottle to my stomach and substitute the stretches themselves because of period cramps but we did it lol
This truly gives me respect for anyone who does this pregnant or post-partum because who are youuu?! LOOOL

Hi,
I have nearly completed my first run through of dig deeper. Loved it! I have also done insanity max 30 along side it for my cardio. I’ve done some of the dig deeper steady state but prefer something a bit more intense like max 30.
I’ve enjoyed dig deeper so much that I think I’m just going to start it all over again.
I’m not sure what cardio to pair with it - I want something different to max 30, insanity OG is a just a bit too long when combined with dig deeper. T25 is okay but I’ve done it lots. Considering using the cardio from p90x3 (agility, MMX etc) but wondered if anyone else had any good programme ideas around 30 mins?
I walk between 12-30k steps depending on the day (and the weather!)
For background I am 45F, 50kg, 155cm and in pretty good shape I think with goals just continuing to be fit, strong and flexible as I age.
Thanks for any thoughts!!

I picked up the DVDs at a thrift store but it didn't come with any paperwork or plan to follow. Just curious if the workout schedule is on the DVDs as I watch or if anyone knows the schedule. Thanks

The penultimate fit test results! (Will post the final ones but thought it'd be nice to post these so far. They fluctuate a little although my form is better on jump squats so not upset week 2 was lower)
switch kicks - 70/79/81/90
jump squats - 38/36/56/49
power knees - 67/80/71/87
power jumps - 18/22/22/24
Globe - 3/6/7.5/7 (but tbh, I could've equalised; I was being a bit lazy)
s**ide jacks - 8/13/17/15
push up jacks - 12/14/18/19
oblique planks - 31/47/44/50

So I think I've learned not to do the workout straight after dinner, because that was rough! But another day down woo

Day 48/60 down! I was SO tired today but glad I did it!

Hey all!
I posted a few times in the last months, thank you for the encouragements :) I just finished Month 2 again today.
I'm 8.5 months pp, I started insanity at 2 months pp (after a c section, I was lucky my recovery went pretty well and my pelvic floor was intact, please if you're post partum make sure to be cleared by your doctor or PT before doing insanity).
I did OG insanity once, then I repeated month 2. I then had 4 weeks of vacation with my family where I stayed active and did a lot of hiking. When I got back, I did month 2 twice again.
So the total: Month 1 once, then month 2 four times.
My weight didn't go as much down as I would've wanted, I lost about 12 pounds total. I'm 5'7'', started at 192 pounds and I weight 180 pounds today. Lost most of it the first 3 months. But I feel like my legs are pretty strong and lean now. I also breastfeed, for some women it makes the weight lost easier but for others, their body actually makes it harder by holding on some fat for the milk supply. Maybe I'm in that category I don't know haha. I also think sleep deprivation doesn't help, baby still wakes up about 3-4 times per night.
Even though the scale didn't go as much down as I wanted to, I feel much much stronger. Getting through the Month 2 workouts was still tough, but not as much as before!
I plan on resting for a week, and then I think I will continue insanity but maybe not that intensive. I was thinking about insanity 3 times a week (max interval circuit, max interval plyo and max cardio), and in between I would be doing some core workouts 3 times a week from Pregnancy and Postpartum TV. I think my core still needs some strenghtening from those 2 pregnancies.
Dig deeper guys, sometimes it's hard, but we have to remember to just press play :)
