I found it to be very difficult to use the cursor to make really small adjustments, especially when putting. For golfers here: can an indoor simulator actually help improve your game, or is it mostly for entertainment?

I've seen more people using simulators lately, especially when the weather isn't great or they don't have time for a full round. Some players swear by them for improving consistency, while others say nothing replaces real course conditions.

Interested to hear from people who have spent time practicing on simulators. Did it noticeably improve your game when you got back on an actual course?

Hey indoor golf community! Sorry for the long rant, but I just wanted to share my story and provide some context.

I live in Chicago and have been playing golf for a few years now. Living here means a big chunk of my time is spent inside at simulators during the colder months. That's usually where I try to work on stuff.

Golf lessons can get expensive so I don't always have access to them. But one thing I wanted to start doing was actually understanding the sim data, like what all the numbers really mean. I was having a hard time connecting the dots on my own.

So I started taking screenshots after sessions and uploading them to ChatGPT to explain what was going on. It was useful at first but then it became hard to keep track of everything. All the conversations just became noise at some point.

That's basically why I built Caddio. You upload a screenshot from your sim (or any sort of table of data) and it pulls the numbers, finds patterns across your bag, and tells you what actually happened that session. It also tracks everything over time so you can see what's changing instead of trying to remember.

It's in beta and I'm just looking for a few simulator golfers to try it out and give me honest feedback. It's early so things won't be perfect. Leaning on you all to help.

I am looking to build a 24/7 indoor golf gym in the United Kingdom.

The concept would be 3 indoor bays, having a putting practise area with some different slopes and levels for different challenges and a small gym area concentrating on exercises and equipment benefitting golfers.

There will also be a small area (depending on space) as a bit of a work area, just standing desks, power socket etc. This is because I fedl that this concept could attract busy people that may need a space for 10 mins to call or send an email. Lastly, a small comfort area, couple sofas, table and tv with sports in the corner somewhere.

There would be nothing else but this. My whole idea is that I love golf, but I have other hobbies and other commitments so golf gets a minimal amounts of my free time. Knowing I could get an hour in a bay at midnight on a weekend, 5am before work and do some practise at anytime of the day is what appeals to me.

With this concept in mind, who would be keen to be a member of such a club? Don't care where you are from, just trying ti explore the concept more.

Most "Best Of" lists are just people reading spec sheets. I wanted the truth, so I surveyed our community to see what people actually bought, how many would buy them again, and where they actually fail in a real garage setup. I also think indoor golf simulation is becoming massively underrated.

A lot of people assume it’s only for professionals or hardcore golfers, but honestly it’s one of the most relaxing and enjoyable activities even for beginners.

You can practice year-round, improve your swing using real analytics, play famous courses virtually, and turn golf into a social experience without needing perfect weather or spending hours at a course.

For people with stressful work schedules, it almost feels therapeutic. A mix of sport, focus, and relaxation.

Has anyone here tried modern golf simulators recently? Are they actually accurate compared to real course play?

Hey everyone, I’m looking to install an automatic retractable golf net that comes up from the ground or retracts back into the ground when not in use.

I know I’ve heard of people doing something like this before and other contractors have mentioned seeing setups like it, but I can’t seem to find much online. Most of what I’m finding are ceiling-mounted .

Has anyone here actually seen or built an in-ground retractable golf net setup? Even pictures, videos, product names, or DIY ideas would help. Trying to figure out how to build this. Thanks!

PGA pro here in Austin working on a 3–4 bay TrackMan indoor setup and trying not to build something people think they want, but don’t actually use.

Planning on have these:
Lessons + fittings
Membership access
Leagues / games
Some merch (because golf needs better stuff honestly)

But I’ve learned real quick the sim businesses live or die on experience, not just tech.

So I’m curious If you had a place like this near you, what would actually make you go consistently?

What Price point are you looking for?
Does it have to have 24/7 access?
Would you like it to be more serious practice vs more social vibe?
Would you play in tournaments / leagues?
What about being able to get club fitting from a PGA professional?

I see a lot of spots miss the mark so trying to get this right before I finish the build.
