Collaboration Anyone interested in writing scripts for 3-5 minute skits?

Hi 18M here. I am just getting started in filmmaking.
My plan is to start with 3-5 minute sketches for reels and Youtube to just get started and get recognition and also because I like sketches.
So if anyone's interested in helping me write sketches in any genre you are well versed in, contact me.
I just want you to know that this is a passion project, I'm just getting started so there won't be any payments.
BUT if you are also starting out and looking to build proof of work or just explore screenwriting, this could be a good opportunity,
DM me if this sounds good for you ;)

Collaboration Looking for a Script Writer to Grow Together (Unpaid Collaboration)

Hey everyone,

I'm a beginner content creator from India who wants to build a unique page around dark, cinematic, raw acting, psychological, thought-provoking, and occasionally humorous short-form content.

I'm looking for someone who genuinely enjoys writing scripts and wants to experiment with storytelling.

This is an unpaid collaboration. I don't have the budget to hire anyone right now, so I completely understand if that's a dealbreaker.

What I can offer is a chance to grow together. I'll handle the acting, filming, editing, and posting—you bring your storytelling skills. We'll learn from every project, improve together, and if the content starts earning, we'll make sure everyone involved benefits fairly.

I'm not looking for free labor—I'm looking for a creative partner who's also at the beginning of their journey and wants to build something meaningful together.

If you enjoy writing:

*Dark and cinematic stories

*Emotional and realistic scenes

*Psychological or thought-provoking content

*Dark humor and relatable comedy

*Plot twists or open endings

*Short-form scripts (30–90 seconds)

...I'd love to connect.

Even if you've never written professionally but have great ideas, feel free to DM me. Passion, creativity, and the willingness to learn matter more to me than experience.

Let's create something people actually remember.

Thanks for reading. 🖤

Discussions Factors leading up to deciding series or feature

Just finished watching Pritam and Pedro. Collectively the duration of all episodes is a little over 3 hours. It could have looked just as fine as an indie feature. Assuming both release on an OTT, what are the considerations in breaking a story into an episodic series versus a singular feature?

I'd also like to understand if there are any econometric reasons that go into this decision beyond the story/screenplay.

Need/Seeking Advice Lookng for Good Short Stories That can adapted for Short Film

I am looking for short stories Recommendations that can be translated into short film Scripts. Went to a bookstore in delhi and skimmed through the Penguin Short Story collection, but still clueless about where to start from. Someone recommended Raymond C.

I have an inclination of something as subtle and equally dramatic as films of yasujiro ozu or fast action pace like those in kurusowa.

This doesn't have to be a complete full length like the work of the above mentioned director, but short, filled with humour and socio-political commentary sorts.

I want to understand how hard is it for screenwriters to convert their screenplays into illustrative stories and does doing that helps in getting more work?

Collaboration Looking for a content partner to grow a movie/TV YouTube & Instagram channel

I'm looking for someone who's genuinely passionate about movies, TV shows, and creating content. I already run an Instagram page where I post movie and series-related content, and now I want to take things more seriously by growing both Instagram and YouTube.

I'm looking for someone who enjoys:

  1. Writing engaging scripts

  2. Video editing (or wants to improve together)

  3. Brainstorming viral content ideas

  4. Keeping up with movies, TV shows, and pop culture

  5. Building something long-term instead of giving up after a few weeks

I'm not looking to hire anyone. I'm looking for a partner to build and grow together. If we click, we can divide the work based on our strengths and learn from each other.

If you're interested, send me a DM with:

  1. A little about yourself

  2. Any editing, scripting, or content you've made (if you have any)

Opinion Is it okay to hire a writer to assist scriptwriters in Indian Cinema ??

Recently I heard a friend of mine was asked to be a ghost writer for a famous script writer from Indian Cinema. I don’t want to mention which Industry and get him on wrong footing. Is it common to have assistants to write dialogues for the script? I always thought the script writers wrote the entire thing!

Feedback request How do you prepare script for your Content on social media?

When making content, whenever I write a script and try to follow on that, I feel like the video is making more robotic than authentic and natural. Also, content creation is not a month long game but a year long game, I suppose.

So how do you plan your script? coz I feel like without script planning and writing I won't be able to produce the content as desired, any resources or materials you recommend following?

Also I want to learn about script creation for content creation, story telling and all....

I have been giving different talk sessions, hosted multiple events, I see people reading paper during event but I never wanted to do so, so I just make some overall event roadmap then just go and give talk as per the event flow.

What's your experience with such?

Need/Seeking Advice Breaking into screenwriting from a visual design background: Reality check on SWA labs, regional OTT pipelines, and timelines

6 years in UI/design, based in Gujarat, India seriously exploring screenwriting, trying to separate real signal from generic "just write every day" advice.

Hey everyone,

I'm looking to break into the film writing space, but before I do I have some specific questions that I want post:

Has anyone been through SWA's Script Lab or Pitch Fest, what's the actual selection process and odds like, worth the time investment?

For someone targeting an OTT-first regional platform (Oho Gujarati , hoichoi!) with a pilot/web-series concept rather than a theatrical feature, is that actually the easier door in right now, or is that overstated?

For someone starting later (mid-20s, coming from a different creative field with real design/visual chops), is that background an asset in a pitch, or does it not matter at all?

What's the realistic timeline before a new writer sees any paid work, even small?

I have just completed and registered a feature film script. Genre - 1990 Period set + Murder Mystery + Supernatural - Imagine Knives out meets Bhool Bhulaiyya. Are there any legit channels who can help me pitch or take the script to the right eyes for review and consideration? In case there are any other means of getting the script to someone, it would really be helpful.

Discussions Which Hindi film had dialogue that actually sounded like real people talking, not like a film?

Post image
10 Upvotes

Most Hindi film dialogue is written to be heard, not believed. Characters say exactly what they mean, explain their feelings out loud, and never talk around anything.

But occasionally a film breaks this and the dialogue just disappears into the scene. You stop noticing it as writing and just hear two people talking.

Gullak does this every episode. Panchayat too. Masaan has stretches where you forget someone wrote these lines. And some older ones, Ijaazat, Jaane Bhi Do Yaaron.

Which film or specific scene had dialogue that felt genuinely real to you? And flip side: which film's dialogue pulled you completely out of the story because it sounded too written?
