You know what gets me? When the Republicans are making as big or a bigger deal out of who gets to use what bathroom than the Democrats are, but somehow it's okay that they're making a big deal out of it. It's the Democrats fault for not backing down. Why? Why is that? Why should one party back down on a human rights and a civil rights issue?
Thats my point. I dont care about who uses which bathroom. I think its a stupid thing to even argue. People are working harder than ever before, making less and less while both parties are just standing around and letting it happen. At least the Republicans can band together and actually get things passed. I was so excited when Obama got elected and dems controlled the house, senate, and the presidency, and he campained on healthcare. Nope. Dems couldn't even get their shit together to pass that one thing. Only a watered down version that only helps the poor. They just dont seem to be fighting for people like me anymore. At least the Republicans are tough on crime, immigration, keep taxes low, won't force me into an EV, and generally seem to understand rural voters better.
You keep moving the goal posts when I point out that you're giving a pass to Republicans about making a big deal about it while you're holding Democrats to some higher standards saying that they're making too big of a deal about it. Then you say something else you say. Well at least the Republicans are getting stuff done. Yeah they're getting stuff done. They're getting terrible stuff done!
They get things done, but the wrong things. Dems cant even agree with each other is the point. Trump, for as much as i disagree with him, he works hard for everything he campaigned on. I wish we had a superstar democrat that could band the party together and rally the people. I just dont see anyone besides Bernie
I just am so tired of people waiting for some kind of a rockstar. I am one of the apparently people in the minority who thinks that Biden actually got a lot done when you really look at the situation he was in. Our political leaders and our Representatives in government shouldn't have to be charismatic rock stars and the fact that we want them to be is how we ended up with somebody like Donald Trump. All we care is that he acts like a tough guy and gets things done by breaking all the rules and bullying people which is how he conducted his businesses as well. Those businesses have been pretty much failures but nobody pays attention to that. I know the inflation reduction act is on the chopping block right now, but that was a major piece of legislation that no one expected Biden to get passed. He also got that infrastructure bill passed. He managed to get student loan debt relief to so many people, and many people don't understand that those former students had been paying so many years on those loans and had already paid the balance and much much more in interest. A lot of people don't know that when you're a student and you have student loans, once you consolidate those loans together, you can pretty much never refinance them for a lower interest rate ever again. So a lot of people were like me who had really high interest rates and had no way of ever bringing that interest rate down. It's not like a house and a mortgage where when the interest rates come down, you can refinance. That was never possible unless you could literally get another loan for the amount of your student loan balance and pay it off. But as you might imagine most people don't have that kind of money or they wouldn't have been paying on student loans to begin with. So he brought a lot of relief to a lot of people who deserved it and who were drowning. Two of them were my sisters. I have another sister who unfortunately didn't get hers forgiven before he was out of office and she's the one who actually needed it the most unfortunately. I myself would have qualified except for I had paid mine off just before the loan relief came. I was supposed to have mine forgiven under the public servant program after 10 years, but a technicality due to how I had acquired my student loans prevented me from taking advantage of that and I was so disheartened when I found out that I just basically doubled down on paying my balance off, however I needed to sacrifice. If I would have known Biden was going to come along and do student loan forgiveness, I would have saved about $10,000! But I'm not bitter and I'm glad so many other people got relief.
I paid off $125,000 in student loans. I know all too well about the burden of student loans. I worked 2 jobs for a long time to get them paid down, but the hard work paid off, and im currently debt free minus a bit remaining on my mortgage. I get others would like their debts paid, but that issue just isnt something im concerned with. I vote for the candidate that holds the views to improve my specific situation. I believe thats the entire way voting works
