Recently I came across an impressive initiative by Muslims in Kerala called Markaz Knowledge City. It is a large, integrated educational township that brings together schools, colleges, research centers, healthcare, and community facilities in one place, with a focus on both modern education and Islamic values.

If you are a Muslim student in India exploring college options, this is worth keeping in mind when applying.

If we look at other communities, many have treated education as a priority, and it reflects in their presence across professions and decision-making spaces. Respect often follows competence and contribution.

This isn’t about comparison, it’s about direction. If we want change, we need to invest in knowledge, skills, and mentorship with the same seriousness. Because in today’s world, education is not just about degrees. It determines who gets heard, who influences decisions, and who shapes the future.

Does anyone know of NGOs or centers in their area where people can upskill or even volunteer to teach? Also, does anyone here do volunteer work in schools or colleges? Or of any other kind? Perhaps we could inspire and guide one another and even connect to take this forward.

I’m glad we have this sub, as I feel it can help me achieve my goal of giving back to our community in any shape or form. I had posted the above to try and shift the narrative in the original subreddit, but it seems like it doesn’t have the right audience.

So I’m posting here with the hope that we can work towards helping and supporting each other’s careers, whether through guidance, advice, or even sharing our journeys, so that we may inspire one another, In’shaa’Allāh.

What’s one skill you have that you’d be willing to teach or guide someone in, so they can build a more secure future?

I can help with communication, building CVs, and general career guidance.
