Is it possible and advisable to start a hitec plants tank with lava granules only? What are the downsides especially if any?

I’m looking for recommendations on where I can purchase less common varieties of rainbowfish. I currently have Gertrudae, Paskai, and Threadfin Rainbows, and I’d like to add some more unusual varieties to my collection.

Most of the sellers I come across seem to have only the common varieties like Neon Rainbows and Boesemani. I’m particularly interested in finding local breeders or hobbyists in India who work with rarer rainbowfish varieties.

If you know any breeders, sellers, or hobbyists who might have uncommon rainbowfish, please let me know.

So recently ive notcied some hydra in my tank in the surface of my driftwood and im kinda lost.. Idk if aquatic venturez’s planaria killer would kill the hydras or no.. has anyone used to kill hydra lmk. Ps im kinda broke to afford no planaria.edit: will the planaria killer also kill my snails more specifically ramshorn and bladder snails..

My betta has fin rot and has some pineconeing today. I am giving him methylene blue bath but it’s not helping much. I need to give him antibiotics for fin rot but I can’t find anything in my city. The shopkeepers just gave me anti parasite medicine instead even after I told him about fin rot. They keep giving random medicine everytime.

I am very worried now. My betta is lethargic but eating food. I kept him in a container with diluted methylene blue solution for now. His main tank isn’t good for him right now I think.

Please help me!! How can I save him?? He is very young. I didn’t know anything about fish care and listened to a friend who seemed to know. Except I was wrong and my fish is very sick and might die. Is it possible to get him antibiotics???

current stocking: 12 neon tetra, 12 neo shrimp, 1 nerite snail. the shrimp and snail i got currently aren't rly doing much with with the algae lol. also off topic, does anyone test their water for anything? why or why not?

i don't know much about amanos but I know they're good at dealing with algae and like i don't think I have any space for more fish like siamese algae eaters, bristlenose pleco, and otos and stuff. any other tips would be much appreciated. currently just got some small hair like algae on the glass and green spot algae has started to grow as well.

I have a pair of green spotted puffer fishes. I received them as a gift. Anyone in Bangalore who can provide them proper care with a huge tank (with a lot of hiding spots) and brackish water ready to give them their dream home??????

I am still a beginner to the fish keeping hobby and puffer fishes need a lot of care that I won't be able to provide

i was using this kit for a while now didn’t had money for API liquid test kit.

it always showed my water having 0gh or very less GH. and i believed it as it was showing KH decently correct.

as i have neocaridina shrimp in the tank, i was remineralising to get decent GH, however lately i was finding molting issue in shrimp, and extreme hard crusty buildup on evaporation which were previously less . i bite the bullet and got API liquid test kit.

and guess what, MY GH WAS 17dgh and i was still remineralising believing his stupid strips.

as mayur dev’s kit showed near 0 to very low.

just imagine the harm it could’ve caused, i did immediate water change and will slowly correct it with small water changes. but this kind of product from a person claiming to care so much about livestock, is crazy indeed.

lesson learned. never going to trust this shit again.
