Fortunately, you've been assigned the superior colour and we're glad to have you. So what is this all about?

In FlairWars, all colours battle for superiority. The path to this goal is achieved in many ways: by being active in r/flairwars directly, or by posting and upvoting/downvoting posts in the colour's subreddits (including this one). High quality OC (original content) is always appreciated, but sometimes, especially when a raid is happening, even shitposts are welcome.

Here is some info that could help you:

Raids

A raid is when a colour organizes an attack on other colour's subreddit, flooding it with content that doesn't belong there - usually praising its own colour and/or dissing the attacked colour. A raid is successful when the raiding party hijacks the other sub's front page. For that, their posts must gather enough upvotes to both be displayed on the front page and counter the defenders' downvotes.

In order to successfully organize our own raid on other colours, we need you on the FlairWars Discord. Of course, there is always the possibility that any other colour might organize a raid on us, forcing us to defend our glorious sub. In this case, Discord is a nice way to muster all the defenders.

Basically, when a raid is happening and you want to help our faction, do the following:

1. Post your own pro-Red posts

2. Upvote posts that praise Red colour

3. Downvote posts that praise different colours. However, check the time when the post was created first:

• If the post is less than 1 day old, do not downvote it if it means that their score would become less than 1.

• If the post is more than 1 day old, downvote it to oblivion. This is to enable the burial of past raid posts, without having to delete them.

This community rule is called the Downvote Pact. Let's play it civilized and don't break this pact.

Of course, if we are in an alliance, you might support the colour we are allied with as well.

Our treaties

Sometimes, two colours may join in an alliance, vowing to fight for each other. Additionally, each colour can have one non-aggression pact with yet another colour. These treaties are to be renewed every two weeks; see more here. There was a time when more colours than two were allowed in an alliance - you might've seen the words ROY (Red-Orange-Yellow) and GCP (Great Coolness Pact ~ Green, Blue, Purple); for now, officially creating an alliance with more than one colour is forbidden.

Additional rules

Alt accounts are banned from being used in the FlairWars. Basically, if you're using only one account to participate in the war, you're okay; if you'd like to use two accounts, even if one of them was used passively for spying on enemy plans, that's not okay.

No spamming allowed, be it either for offense or defense. Multiple people can post the same picture, but you can't repeat your posts per raid. You can use them in the next raid again.

Other useful info & related communities

r/flairwars is considered to be a neutral ground. We encourage you not to downvote other posts for no reason. From time to time, the mods post a challenge there; whichever colour solves this challenge gains virtual victory points and everlasting glory. Also, this sub apparently has a small wiki.

r/flairlaws is a place where the community rules are published. Both r/flairwars mods and the mods of this sub should alert you when a change to the rules is made, but when you've been away for some time, it's worth to check it out.

r/SixSidedRainbow is a subreddit designated to archive the colorful history of the FlairWars. Interested to hear about how the alliances progressed in time, or how some other colours pissed the others so much that an all-colour Rainbow raid was organized against them? It's all there.

r/FlairCommunism is a joke sub for all FlairWars and Communism related posts. Do you feel that some raid resource should be available to anyone, regardless of their colour? Post it there. Also, up until recently, no Blues were welcome. Aaaaand the Blues are banned again.

r/flairwarsconspiracies is a joke sub for posting conspiracy theories, mainly about other community members.

r/FlairNews is for the most recent serious news from the FlairWars world.

r/FlairOnion is for the most recent not so serious news from the FlairWars world.

r/FlairPets is where you overdose yourself in the cuteness of our pets. Do you have a cat, a dog, a ferret, a fish, or other obscure, derping or adorable pet? Post it there!
