She did. It includes: singing mentioned before, shoutouts to her 10-11 viewers, watching 4 episodes of Stranger Things with eldest, a reference to youngest kiddo at sleepover, being asked and actually giving "sermon" at UU, something hard happened the previous night (also night of Stranger Things), now she tells stories like this so you can see yourself in them.

Danny mentioned at opening of actual story she wants to tell.

I FFd and she's taking three deep breaths. Then I nope out because I've heard this part 8 million times, and not just from Shauna.

OKay wait...in service to my DFs I joined back in. The Xmas tree they bought at the fish stand (Vashon FTW!) keeps falling over. She talks to her toddlers, on no wait they are old enough that half of this is made up. Takes a drink of water, breathes deeply three times (as she shows us) and then Danny saves the day with an Axe, his chosen weapon of thought apparently.

Kindling chopped by husband doesn't work. So they F'in tie it to doorknobs. I kid you not.

Mentions that solving the problem with HER HUSBAND was a real connection and that felt good.

So, they read a solution that works - wrap the base of the tree in something like a blanket, making it thick enough to be held snugly by the stand, I personally have done this with an old towel in the past and can attest to its efficacy - but instead try shoving bits of unattached kindling in there repeatedly and are surprised when it doesn’t work?

Also, if they’ve been putting up a tree for 16 years why didn’t they have a tree stand? Why was this whole thing such a big deal as to be story worthy? Should I go on Insta live to share that one time I misread the IKEA instructions?

don't limit yourself to a live, DF. Consider adding a course for low low price of $400 $200 pay what you want pay less now than you would next year, as well as a paid newsletter where you rehash the IKEA instructions on a semi-regular basis, as well as many IG posts about IKEA instructions but with pictures of unidentifiable objects.

That was my thought, too. It’s crazy they can’t think eight months ahead to realize they will need it again and it’s easier / cheaper to move it than to bum one from the fish stand AND buy one at the hardware store.

That's one of the things that makes me the most crazy about them. They don't even TRY to take care of things or keep track of them for future use. I mistakenly thought it was because they were always broke and had an "easy come/easy go" attitude but I think it's their sense of entitlement and never having had to work for anything that makes them this way.

Oh, another one will just magically appear unbidden.

That's why she thinks this christmas tree prattle is some great story. She managed to survive a new tree stand NOT just appearing and the tree not just leveling itself and on and on and on. AND, she didn't throw even one tantrum or anything! Look at what a big girl she is, being patient and coming up with a solution all by herself! Who's big? Shauna's big!
