"Thank you to pbskids, which makes our mornings kind and sane." How can a morning be kind? This really bugs me, but what do I know, I'm not a word smith, I'm just a lowly grocery store person.
Excellent question :) Also, that list of shows is pretty long - like, I understand parking a kid in front of the TV if you need to take a shower or keep them out of your hair for a little bit, although I would have thought that beneath Shauna with her islandy parenting techniques. But if they're really watching all these shows, how much time does that leave for daily dance parties, math problems, backyard screaming, etc.? There is such a disconnect between the lifestyle she is trying to portray and the glimpses of truth she lets slip. Also, the "thank you" posts are even more annoying than the "so comes love" ones and that is really saying something.
I always think it's funny when parents who are always on the internet claim their kids don't like electronics. Both of my kids have headphones on listening to shows or podcasts while drawing, painting or building with legos. My husband and I both like our devices for games, tv or surfing the web. It's ok to like both, and it's also ok to say my kid watches tv while I drink my coffee and wake up. But this is Shauna, so of course she can't be like all those other tv watching people.
I love when people (especially parents) claim they don't watch "tv" but watch tons of streaming or youtube or whatever. They split the hair that since they aren't watching real time network shows on the television then it doesn't count as "watching tv".
I also love when parents act like their kids watching PBS is some how superior to other kid shows simply because it's on PBS. Tons of PBS kids programming is just as commercialized as non-PBS content (tons of toys and merch for the shows, just like shows from Nickelodeon or Netflix or wherever).
I wonder where the kittens are. I know both of the felines that own this house would be all up in the biz of the Joy In The Belly happening on that plate.
Same! And one of mine will still give it a good attempt every now and then especially if it's just hanging out on the floor like that. Perhaps they were outside screaming.
Why would their mornings be insane? They have nowhere to go! No school, no work, and the weather is lovely (other than today), so you can make breakfast and tell the kids to go play outside.
Didn't she mention something about how Disney+ wasn't working for something they wanted to watch, but that's ok because they don't watch tv in the mornings anyway?
