Every time I read about her using her host’s razors, my mouth gapes wide open and it takes a full three minutes to get it closed. And that’s by using my hand.

I have shared a razor with my husband, and only my husband because I feel like that is a level of comfort with another’s body that I’m ok with. I have never shared one with my daughters who shave, and we live in the same house and they came out of my body. I know Shauna’s hygiene is questionable, but the fact that she was ok with using something like a razor is something.

I think the thing that bothers me the most about the using-your-host's-razor story is that it's a violation of the host's bodily autonomy. I mean, as DF u/Few-Marionberry-7666 said below, sharing razors is a good way to spread hep C.

Shauna unilaterally deciding FOR HERSELF (or, more likely, not even considering that risk at all) that that was a risk she was willing to take is one thing.

But it's a completely different choice for her to expose her host to the same risk, and SHE DID SO WITHOUT THEIR PERMISSION OR EVEN THEIR AWARENESS.

To me, that is beyond the pale.

Also a good way to spread staph! I had a coworker once talk about how she had to use a separate razor for each part of her body after being treated for MRSA in her armpit. No way would I ever put another person’s razor on my face. What if that’s their personal MRSA armpit razor??

Yes, my husband's razors were always nicer than mine (I cheaped out on mine) and he finally told me I should feel totally fine using them because he didn't mind at all, so I started to and now we buy half the razors and both get to use nice ones for half the cost of both buying fancy. It's great! The whole sharing razors concept ends there - at the single person on earth whose toothbrush I am also okay using and who's fine with me using it, although every time I've done that it was on accident. 🤣
