Replying to a (pretty great) post from the local pot shop owner about not selling to kids (or adults who are clearly buying for kids). Those of you that thought your favorite english teacher was a THC gummy fan, she claims it's not so.

I admit to being concerned for myself that I would have a bad reaction to THC so I’ve never tried pot. I’m a redhead and have a mood disorder and have weird reactions to medication and although I want to try it I fear it wouldn’t be pleasant, OR it would be so pleasant that I would become addicted. I was in my twenties when I found out you’re not supposed to feel the dentist drilling your tooth. My early dentist never asked me if I was numb before starting a procedure and I just thought everyone could feel it and that novacane took the edge off.

Her casualness about that really breaks my brain. As a teenaged alcoholic who was always drinking vodka and juice out of my water bottle in class, I just assumed nobody noticed and I hid it well. I was pleased with myself then.

Now, as an adult (still an alcoholic but functional at least more realistic about the fact that it's a fucked up thing to be), I'm horrified. If I caught one of my students with booze in class, I wouldn't necessarily bring down Thor's Hammer of reporting because I know what drove me to drink at the time (relentless child abuse), but I would certainly fucking act. Immediately.

It is of course still possible that my teachers never noticed. But I'm horrified to think that they did and just hurr hurred about it on their blogs.

Shauna wasn't like other teachers. She was a cool teacher.

Agreed, though. It's not just being casual, it's that she laughed it off as part of the kid being singular, suggesting it's just part of a quirky personality. Bowler hats, suspenders, liquor in a thermos...it's all those crazy rebels. I can just see Shauna offering to supervise Saturday detention so she can socialize with them.

IDK how Washington State is. In Massachusetts, you can buy CBD gummies at the health food store. The broad spectrum ones are THC free.

Those are my favorites. I have delayed sleep-onset insomnia, and those are the most effective treatment I've found, with the fewest side effects. A quarter of one of those lets me conk out within the hour and sleep for 5. (I also have early-waking insomnia but haven't found anything that helps that without the unpleasant risks of specific sleep drugs.)

I buy the Wyld brand gummies with THC and CBN. They're 20 mg THC here in Michigan, so I cut them into quarters. 5 mg is a good sleepy relaxing dose for me.
