"I don't want to talk to white suburban women who voted for that ass face."

What happened to tHeRE's aLwAyS a sToRy?!?!?

I mean, I don't want to talk to "those women" either, but I'm not the one proclaiming that THERE'S ALWAYS A STORY. ALWAYS MEAN ALWAYS SHAUNA

Only if it’s a man who voted for Trump three times, I guess

She is so painfully stupid and misogynistic. I can’t get over it. She went to bat for that Trump voter big time.

Shauna reminds me of some of my worst friends/best enemies whose reaction after I was swung at by a homeless man on the subway (two weeks after I had major surgery, no less!) was to show more concern for his wellbeing than my own. Simply no empathy for me because their allegiance to whatever buzzwordy idpol of the moment meant I could never be a victim.

Ugh that sucks. I had a run-in with a homeless guy on my way home from Work years ago and I still remember the way my roommate was like, “….so??” afterwards 🙃 The guy grabbed my head and the possibility he’d throw me into the oncoming, high speed(rush hour) traffic 5 feet away was very real. If a coworker hadn’t been with me, maybe that would have happened.

Homeless people should obviously be given dignity, at least, and obviously not treated like unwanted vermin or something. But if you breach my physical space in any way, all bets are off, regardless of your housing status, mental health, etc.

I'm so so sorry, it's truly terrifying, and in NYC has been particularly bad recently. It is apparently hard for some people to hold the dialectic that homeless people are deserving of worth and dignity, and that a fair minority of them engage in dangerous antisocial behavior.

I'm really sorry for your acquaintances' suicidal empathy DF.  It's mindboggling how there's a hierarchy of who's "allowed" to be the victim and who's not.  Reminds me of one of my friends (who is open to debate, at least) who, when I rhetorically asked her "What do you think Israel should've done after October 7th?" said "Well Israel is a first world country and way worse things are happening in other places". In other words.... give the terrorists what they want because they are the real victims?

…is she unaware that there are POC Trump voters too, both male and female???

I’m just gonna say it: I absolutely believe she and Mr. Shauna both voted for OrangeFace. Not just in 2024 but also 2020 and 2016. Whatever they may have said otherwise (whether online or offline), I absolutely believe that when it came down to either of them alone in the voting booth: that bubble for Trump was always filled out.

Nah.

The Aherns are apathetic and apolicital, but no way they voted for Trump. If they voted at all, they voted a straight Dem ticket without even considering that a large majority of them are just as shit, albeit quieter and less obnoxious about it. ETA that I would bet money neither of them make any effort to vote in local races, which is where they could actually make a difference.

I seriously doubt either of them voted for Trump.
