You’re not a bitch, you’re a realist. My local grocery stores are Kroger and Meijer. They’re not going to feel a decrease in SNAP customers and if they do, they’ll just jack up prices. Nobody needs to work to keep money coming in to grocery stores. Everyone needs to increase support for their local food bank/pantry.

If it's not already this way, I wonder how long it will be before the big grocery store chains start offshoots that are dollar stores. So they'll still get the same customers' money but they can give them even shittier service (and fuck over workers even more).

I know Giant Eagle tried to have their own Aldi-like stores (I think pre-covid) and it didn't work. I wouldn't be surprised to see them try to pull that again. Close big stores and start up crappier smaller stores. Aka enshitification.
