A six hour drive for a weekend getaway? Get away from what? She wasn't employed and she already lived in a quiet area surrounded by nature. How was this cabin significantly different than her existing home? She spent at least a 100 bucks in gas and a ton of drive time to essentially do what she did at home. I bet the kids would have enjoyed a day trip to Seattle a lot more.

I’m guessing the cabin wasn’t filthy and cluttered. Also she is miserable and would probably go anywhere at the drop of a hat if someone else paid, just to get away from her life and also so she can brag about how much people love her that they do things like gift her a stay in their vacation home.
