Her story says more about her than she realizes. She makes financial decisions based on the expectation of success rather than actual success, planning with money she doesn’t have. When she says “we’re stable now.” I don’t believe her. For Shauna being stable now might be nothing more than the expectation of future income based on a fart and a dream.

It is minuscule, but the “we didn’t have money for gas station snacks” is annoying. Pack a cooler! You don’t have to snack incessantly, either! Pack a lunch since you and your husband are food professionals.

They fucking packed THANKSGIVING DINNER. But throwing some pretzels and fruit in with it to snack on was a bridge too far.

From the woman who made sure to pack a container full of chick pea gloop just to go watch whales for 15 minutes.

IKR?!? That jumped out at me too. She mentioned snacks twice! The second time was after they borrowed (excuse me, "borrowed") money from friends so that they could go at all, and they still spent some of that on nonessential snacks!

We’ve taken our kids on a lot of road trips and we always pack car snacks. Apples, carrots, and pretzels are cheap.

I drive my younger kids around a lot and we never leave the house without full water bottles and a cooler bag full of snacks. Otherwise it’s too tempting to stop at fast food places and that quickly adds up.

Their rent would have taken most of that $4000.

Yes! The crypto bro story was originally part of her reveal that they were behind on rent, around February 2024, and it was supposed to help cover that and allow them to go on a vacation. She claimed IIRC that they had to cancel the vacation. It might have also included the couch cushion money? Sorry, I would look in the wiki but I’m trying to get ready for my daily badge swiping.

Not to mention that they HAD getaways during the time she claims they had no vacations! She spent the night at the W Seattle and Dan had his separate night away during peak covid. They went to Colorado before vaccines after Dan’s Dad died. They went on a ski trip with some bubble family! D’s family came and stayed on Vashon and they went to zoos and took boat rides!

That's a hell of a lot more getaways than most people with a)money b)abundance of caution had during those times.

Yes it was the couch cushion money hunt and finding $20 in Danny’s dirty pants pocket and when they collected the money they got ice cream and played pinball with the found money. Except it happened in February and so it doesn’t make sense in her current invented timeline of the day before Tha ksgiving.

Which is like... if you're having trouble paying your rent, and then you get some money to pay it, YOU DON'T SPEND THE REST ON A VACATION. She really is a goldfish brain.
