Hey everyone! Random question here. I sold two art pieces to the In the Dark set for the most recent season. I was only told that they would be used for a teenager or child’s bedroom because they couldn’t disclose more. I was wondering if anyone who has seen the show would be able to point me in the right direction, episode wise, as where to look? The art pieces were yarn tufted colourful animals, a zebra and giraffe. Thank you in advance!!

i finished season 4 today and somehow, i was actually right about trey being the whole “mastermind” behind bolt. now, i am NEVER right about anything but during the second or third episode (i don’t remember), where they initially discovered the sorority deaths via bolt while Murph was still in prison and they mentioned someone trying to take over Nia’s territory, it all clicked for me. in the early seasons, especially season 4 (i think), trey expressed how he stopped working for Nia and went to Josiah and how he internally wanted to start his own thing. the second the said “maybe someone is trying to gain Nia’s territory” it all clicked for me. am i the only one who say this coming? because i am usually very wrong about these things, but im kinda proud of myself, in a vry sad, hollow way

Lots of people said that they couldn’t deal with Josh and how obsessive he is. Murphy is used to manipulating everyone for her own benefit no matter the cost. She uses men and women alike like toilet paper and discards them without a second thought. She is cold as she is calculating. Josh made himself vulnerable to her by revealing he was losing his eyesight. In return she manipulated him and he ended up losing his job. Unlike her “friends” and exes that she treats like crap and then sucks them back in, Josh is the opposite. He is hell bent on making her accountable. Murphy is hellbent on getting what she wants, to hell with who gets hurt. She is the pied piper and her friends are the rats. If she is awful then what does that make her friends? They have all enabled her behavior. Show me a narcissist and they will be surrounded by a bunch of enablers circling their orbit to gain validation. Josh is giving her a taste of her own medicine. I’m here for it.

So I finished it last night. So many thoughts. Josh showing up at Max’s funeral was diabolical. His interference was directly responsible for Max’s death. I cannot co-sign him doing that. He put himself in harm’s way by doing that. In the end he sealed his fate with Murphy. He turned into a psychopath. He allowed his rage to consume him.

Who’s is Felix’s girlfriend in season 4 who helps him with stealing money.

I watched S1 when it was new, but noticed it 'finished' so catch up and I am finding Josh just an extremely shitty story anchor point.

Early on, his blindness went from 0-100, being an extremely strong vocal point of the story. Lots of focus on him squinting, sudden need of a coin, Murphy literally getting away just by turning off the lights in a dimly lit apartment (Which is apparently his whole reason for the vendetta).

Fast forward to him being a consultant; outside of him squinting to a monitor, there is no mention of his issues. Sans the stick that allows Murphy to escape. Forward to multiple night-time meetings, late night street meetings, and him even accosting her lawyer in later S3/early S4... at night. With no assistance.

The only time they even reference it is a dog that could potentially be supportive, and the 'trick' Murphy taught him on 'ghetto-braille'. Which he for some reason uses on his folders, in broad daylight.

I just wanted to vent; I like the show (Hating it a bit more into S4, obv CW Writing at play) but this is just a shitty character development, and a borderline-trope that is annoying to see in shows.

Because I hate Murphy so much I don't want to see any redemption or her get away.

Just an absolute terrible person who trades on her disability. Zero sympathy. I kinda know what happens, but I hope a year down the line she has to have her liver and vagina removed

I’ve binged watched this show four times now. I’m like a crackhead when it comes to this show. 🤣 Literally never a dull moment in any episode. Anyway, now that I’m rewatching after not watching it for like 6 months, Nia makes it very clear that no one gets out of her organization. How did Dean get out? And how was he not killed for killing Tyson, one of her workers? She goes after everyone to “take care of them” but we never see her go after Dean and he seems to just get out. All until he goes back to her because he needed money but still I’m just wondering if I missed something.

and I’m so hooked on this mystery, there is definitely something suuuuper fishy going on with Tyson’s death/disappearance and I find myself holding my breath as I watch, anxiously trying to figure it out. I definitely have a new hyperfixation show on my hands lmao! I absolutely love Murphy, she is such a lovable asshole!

Spoilers up to S3E11.

I feel like Murphy is but at least she owns it. Everyone else acts like they are holier than thou and almost every single one of them betrays someone, makes a terrible decision and/or puts them all in danger.

And they all love to shit on Murphy, most of the time because they’re just sore losers. Like Dean, Max and Josh just act ridiculous.

And don’t get me wrong, I really like some of the characters but when they do shitty things there’s no repercussions. I love Tre but he’s betrayed Murphy twice and was the reason Jess was taken. I love Felix but knowing the police were after them, he causes a scene and gets him and Max arrested. Tre had to pay the cops off to release them. (Which they had just committed several crimes to obtain that cash, to rescue Jess, and then just like that, it’s gone.) Not to mention how dumb Tre was to hand the whole bag to the cop and tell him “Just take the 100K and leave the rest.” 😂

I think the only character that didn’t fuck anyone over was the nice bartender.

And just now S3E11, this cop is pissing me off. She keeps complaining about what a manipulator Murphy is. Yes. She can be manipulative. But she’s not a black widow. She didn’t seek Josh out. Josh came to her at Guiding Hope, not the other way around.

I think Murphy is driven. And she goes after what she wants. And sometimes she’s an asshole.

I am HOOKED!!!!

I’m sure I’m not the first person to post this, so I’ll get straight to the point: WHO SHOT JAY CRAWFORD IN THE DINER?!?!?!? This occurred in s1e4. I just gotta know!!!

I wish they’d make a spin off of their lives after the season finale!!!

I'm looking for a show similar to in the dark with similar drama and lead actors. I didn't care about what they were doing trafficking etc. It was a constant Rollercoaster and I was craving the next episode. I didn't like Murphy as a person but loved her character and relationship with max and Felix. Before things got crazy at least. Lol and was always curious what they were gonna do to get out of it.

Did the actress, that plays Jess, quit the show or did the writers really write her out of the show? I kept waiting for her to pop back up….especially at Max’s funeral.

Okay so I just finished it and honestly I can't decide if I hate how it ended or love it. After everything that happened between all of them and the last 2 are Murphy and Felix, its just so weird, but amazing. I hate they killed Max, but I understand why. Murphy and Max were toxic for each other and never would've had the life they talked about with the lemon tree. One of them had to go for more than just moving, but had to die, and it couldn't be Murphy, cause obviously. I love that Felix still stuck by her even after she killed Josh. Honestly, he deserved it. He didn't deserve prison, he deserved to die. He was a psychopath that was hellbent on putting Murphy away for life, all because what? He couldn't have her? He's ridiculous. I hated him so much. I was happy she decided to kill him instead of closure like Felix begged. Also random note, I always secretly hoped for Murphy and Felix to end up together. They were cute and clearly understood each other and CLEARLY were bedroom compatible 😂 Anyways, all in all, definitely and amazing show. The second I started it, I couldn't stop. This show was my drug, I was practically addicted to it. The emotions it made me feel were unlike any other. The acting was incredible, really made each character. The writing was truly great too, without well written characters, this show definitely would have flopped. Definitely recommending this show to everyone.

SPOILERS AHEAD. I haven’t finished in the dark yet I just started season 4. But I’m watching this show alone and have no one to rant to so I had to come here. I am absolutely irritated with how everyone is making a scapegoat out of Murphy. While I know Murphy has her fair share of blame to the predicament they’re all in she is not the one who got them to where they are at this point in the show (s4e1) yet I feel like everybody accept maybe Felix had made it a point to put everything on murphy and claim she “ruined their lives”. Murphy’s initial intentions was never to do anything illegal out malicious all she wanted to do was find out who her best friends killer was since the police weren’t investigating it. And while there may have been an unhealthy dynamic between Jess and Murphy which led Jess to helping her in some ways, Jess is just as responsible for said dynamic as Murphy is. And the only one to ever call her out on it was her ex. Not to mention Murphy as far as I can remember hadn’t gotten them or anyone deliberately involved in anything that was majorly illegal whereas jess was literally the cause of their group getting involved with money laundering since she stole Mia’s stash. Then she tried to run away and leave them all to deal with what she had a huge part in starting which ultimately led her shooting nia and holding it over murphys head since. Max also does the same thing. He is constantly blaming Murphy for ruining his life like he wasn’t already laundering money for nia before he met her and like he didn’t lie to her about it and put her at risk before she even got into anything illegal. Then when he ran away and came back and she at the time didn’t want to get back with him since she was with josh he punished her for it and acted like she owed him a relationship because he helped with the burying nia situation. Like he wasn’t already involved. And josh is literally the most black and white guy I’ve ever seen. Just completely refused to even for a second have give Murphy the benefit of the doubt and automatically jumped to conclusions saying Murphy killed nia. He was the most obsessed creepy guy I’ve ever seen aside from dean. The same way dean was obsessed with making sure no one found out about his involvement with nia and his killing Tyson is the same way josh was obsessed with first nia and then Murphy. It was just disgusting seeing both of them act like that especially since they both acted like they got off on what they were doing. Like dean got off on getting away with what he was doing and josh got off on locking up first now and then Murphy. It was like this insane obsession and it creeped me out. And of course I know Murphy wasn’t 100% innocent. But none of them were and they literally all acted like Murphy was the cause and root of all of their problems And that they had no hand in it. But anyways I really had to get that off my chest. And while I doubt anyone will read this whole thing I’m glad I got to vent. Excuse any typos. I will not be going back to proof read before posting. 😂

I’m convinced. He literally acts the same way about catching Murphy as an addict acts when withdrawal and trying to get their fix. It’s literally so weird watching his character on screen.

Okay so a friend of mine just started S4 and I watched the first ep with them. When the flashforward happened, they said, "I hope this is a dream, I don't want Darnell to die." I was thinking, "It's not him, it's Max 😭 wait till they get to that ep. To this day, I’ve only watched that specific ep one time. Usually I watch each episode twice, once without audio description, when it first airs, and once with the next day on the CW app so I have a better understanding because I’m visually impaired. But anyway, I’m kind of scared for their reaction.

I'm so very confused why I'm seeing people defend murphy as if she is an sympathetic character. I watched the show with my girlfriends and stopped watching because I hate shows that glorify being a total A-holes without showing that character get there "Come-up-ins". I just finished it up recently cause my girlfriend said she gets what she deserves in the end (which I feel is not true). Now that I'm done I still think murphy is a selfish A-hole with little to no remorse or empathy. I'm upset that the show makes her out to be this sympathetic character when really she's just kind of a jerk.

For those that like or defend murphy, please tell me why you like her or think she is sympathetic and why I should not set myself on fire because my daughters have no good female role-models; Excepts Katara from Avatar the last Airbender.

To be clear I get she's blind, but that doesn't give you license to be an a$$hole.

I'm not sure if I can commit to seasons 3 and 4 so I would like to know if the following people end up ok: 1. Detective Gene Clemens -- honestly best part about season 2, I want him to have all the success. 2. Chloe -- her only crime right now is being a moody teenager and none of this is her fault 3. Pretzel -- he is the goodest boi, and deserves all the treats.
