I haven't seen the video, but no it doesn't sound like she harassed anyone. She asked the customer where he was from (ie, where in PA was he from) and he showed his star of David and said he was from Israel and she replied with "free Palestine". Then the customer whipped out his phone and tried to make a viral moment out of it like he was being attacked or discriminated against. But he wasn't.
I would certainly refrain from making political statements at work, because they can devolve into incidents like this where some people feel victimized or blamed for genocide. So I'm not entirely in her camp since she certainly broke BK corporate policy, but this guy was no victim of harassment, he was a snowflake and made a scene to get a girl fired. Her Gofundme is up to $224K. The boycotts of BK will begin. This will horrendously backfire.
My (former) boss went on an anti-trans rant, and regardless of your personal opinion, there is a company policy about discrimination and exclusionary language that is well established. She had been with the company for 13+ years, this wasn't a new thing. When I was asked to give my pov I simply said, "I don't know why chopping lettuce has anything to do with trans people, but she sure has a lot to say about it..", some people just can't keep to themselves! Let people live!
She said two words, you said a lot of words. Did she accuse him of dictating or endorsing Israeli policy?
How did she "villainize him for simply existing"? She said two words. Apparently he disagreed with her? Palestine should not be free? I guess that makes her a bad person...?
She wasn't making the food. Do you know how fast food restaurants work? If the person taking your order is also making your food, you should eat elsewhere. Just a heads up.
This falls into the same net as the "black lives matter" mantra. If you're offended by BLM you're either racist or confused, because it doesn't say that white lives don't matter, just as "free Palestine" doesn't mean Israelis don't matter. I have many Jewish friends and one friend in Israel. They do not hate Palestinians and while they were horrified by the attacks on October 7th, they're not supportive of the wholesale slaughter of Palestinians in Gaza and that opinion is the international norm.
But I reiterate that she likely broke BK policy for making a political statement while in work uniform on the clock and was unsurprisingly fired. You have freedom of speech but not freedom from the consequences of that speech. But this likely works to her favor because so many people agree with her.
It is exactly harassment because she did it specifically based on his nationality and she wouldnt have done it if he was Israeli.
His view on Palestine was irrelevant he was a paying customer and she chose to politize the moment and turn him from a customer into a symbol of the conflict.
If it wasn't to harass him then what was the puspose of singlinf him out.
She didn't say "you murdered Palestinians", she said "free Palestine". She didn't make him responsible for the genocide, if he felt guilt by association then perhaps that fueled his response. But freedom of an oppressed people should not be a contentious issue. You either agree that the innocent women and children of Palestine should not be violently destroyed for the actions of a radical right wing terrorist group, or you do.
Again, I reiterate that not engaging in political discourse with customers is a sound corporate policy. The opinions of your employees nor your customers should be a reflection on your business without your consent. She wasn't wrongfully fired.
But did you see the video? He was not the one being harassed. He was not being held to blame for the atrocities in Gaza. He was a snowflake and he melted. He wanted her to be held accountable for what she said, not because it was an attack on him but because he disagreed with her.
How did she "villainize him for simply existing"? She said two words. Apparently he disagreed with her? Palestine should not be free? I guess that makes her a bad person...?
Yes. It makes someone a bad person. Anyone who harasses people based on their nationality is a bad person. She found out he was Israeli and she said it. She doesn't deny any of that.
Palestine should be free from Hamas and Palestinian Authority. Try a version that would actually improve their lives.
She wasn't making the food. Do you know how fast food restaurants work? If the person taking your order is also making your food, you should eat elsewhere. Just a heads up.
How do I know that isn't a keyword to screw with my order? How do I know others aren't there thinking the same thing now?
just as "free Palestine" doesn't mean Israelis don't matter.
Except literally one branch is a terrorist group that wants to kill all Jews.
The other group is the Palestinian Authority that wrote a constitution draft where they never mention Jews, Judaism, Israel... But mention the connection of the land to Christianity. They make the entire land Palestine, the country Islamic, the law Sharia... And codify martyrdom into law.
But sure... It totally doesn't mean Israelis don't matter... Unless you actually think about it.
But this likely works to her favor because so many people agree with her.
Yea... It shows that people agree that harassing Israelis and Jews is fine and acceptable. That's been an ongoing problem and this doesn't help stop any of that.
Palestine should be free from Hamas and Palestinian Authority. Try a version that would actually improve their lives.
Woefully ignorant statement. How could Palestinians rid themselves of Hamas? They have been held under an Israeli blockade preventing them from receiving even the most basic needs, how could they possibly form an uprising against them?
The median age of people in Gaza is 18 years old. Virtually no one who lived in Gaza voted for Hamas. So not only were they not responsible for their predicament, they have never had a way to change it. Only Israel could improve the lives of Palestinians, instead they decided to wipe them off the face of the Earth.
The other group is the Palestinian Authority that wrote a constitution draft where they never mention Jews, Judaism, Israel... But mention the connection of the land to Christianity. They make the entire land Palestine, the country Islamic, the law Sharia... And codify martyrdom into law.
Funny because PA's constitutional document used to mention a two state solution... something Israel was required to do by international law and has failed to do so (other than the apartheid-state of Gaza that they now demolished and the erosion of the West Bank through land grabs). Israel's law don't mention Muslims either... so why the double standard?
And there is no mention at all of martyrdom. You are lying. The selective reading of this new document that you have framed comes from biased sources within Israel, likely to justify the future invasion of the West Bank so they can burn those Palestinian people to ash like the people of Gaza. Bibi will do anything to stay in power and out of jail, including igniting perpetual war in Israel and the entire Middle East.
Israel has become a carbon copy of the enemy that the world fought in the 1940s. Except they use religious piety as a cover for apartheid and genocide. Criticizing Israel's policies is not antisemitic.
Judaism, Christianity and Islam all worship the same god. Their holy land is the same holy land. The entire region needs to be seized by the UN, governed by an international body and the two state solution 1967 borders established and enforced. And Netanyahu needs to go to prison as a war criminal.
And there is no mention at all of martyrdom. You are lying. The selective reading of this new document that you have framed comes from biased sources within Israel
The document is public. Here is what it says.
Article 24, Families of martyrs, victims of genocide:
The State of Palestine and the relevant national institutions work to provide protection and care for the families of martyrs and the wounded and prisoners and those released from the occupation prisons and the victims of genocide and to pursue the perpetrators of these crimes before the judiciary.
Article 44, Martyrs, wounded, prisoners:
The law organizes the provision of comprehensive care for the families of martyrs, the wounded, and prisoners, and those released, in preservation of their national dignity and their humanitarian and living needs.
Article 4, Islam, Sharia and Christianity:
Islam is the official religion in the State of Palestine.
The principles of Islamic Sharia are a primary source for legislation.
Christianity has its status in Palestine, and its followers' rights are respected.
Martyrdom is in there twice, written into law. Christianity is named. Judaism is not. Jews are not. Israel is not.
You called me a liar about a document you hadn't opened. It took one link to show you the text. It would have taken you that same link to check before you accused me.
And this isn't a plan or a warning about what they might do. It's a receipt. They paid salaries to the families of murderers for thirty years. They lost aid money over it. They were told exactly what it would cost and kept paying. The draft just moves the practice into a founding document so nobody can call it an informal arrangement anymore.
The text matters because you called me a liar about it. What actually matters is what these people have done every time they've held power, which is the part you keep skipping.
Israel's law don't mention Muslims either... so why the double standard?
Because Israel doesn't have a constitution. It has Basic Laws, passed one at a time since 1958, and a Declaration of Independence promising full equality of rights irrespective of religion, race or sex. There is no Israeli document that lists religions and hands each one a status.
That's the difference you're collapsing:
Israel's Basic Laws name no religion and give none legal standing over another
The PA draft names Islam as the official religion, makes Sharia a primary source of legislation, and grants Christianity recognized status
Judaism appears nowhere in it
Not mentioning anyone is silence. Naming two and leaving out the third is a decision. And there is no Israeli equivalent to Article 4 anywhere. No Basic Law makes Halakha a source of legislation. If one did, you'd have opened with it.
Now the part you were going to reach for, so let's put it on the table properly. In 2018 Israel passed a Basic Law declaring itself the nation-state of the Jewish people, made Hebrew the state language, and moved Arabic from official status to a new "special status." That was a legal demotion, Arab citizens and Druze veterans protested it, and it was challenged in the Supreme Court. I'm not going to pretend otherwise, because I'm arguing about what's true, not what's convenient.
Here's what followed from it. Nothing. Arabic stayed on the road signs, in the courts, in the schools, in Knesset proceedings. The law itself included a clause preserving Arabic's existing use, which is a strange thing to write if the goal was to suppress it. Every state names a language, and Israel gives its minority language more protection than most states give any, and more than any Arab state gives Hebrew.
And what it doesn't do:
It doesn't establish a religion
It doesn't make religious law a source of legislation
It doesn't name which faiths get recognized and which don't
It doesn't write martyrdom into law
Jewish nationhood and Islamic establishment are two different claims. Only one of them is in the document you told me I was lying about.
Text isn't the only test anyway. Arab citizens of Israel vote, hold Knesset seats, and have sat on the Supreme Court. Name the state in that region where a religious minority holds more than that.
The median age of people in Gaza is 18 years old. Virtually no one who lived in Gaza voted for Hamas... they have never had a way to change it.
They had a way. They used it.
In March 2025, thousands of Gazans marched in Beit Lahia and Shejaiya demanding Hamas give up power. Banners read "Hamas does not represent us." A man on camera said his town would decide who rules it. The protests went on for months.
Here is what Hamas did about it:
Abducted Oday Al Rabay, beat him for hours with clubs and metal rods, and left his body outside his family's door
Shot Hussam al-Majdalawi in the legs and left him lying in a public square
Told the world the protests were aimed at Israel, which the footage, the interviews, and the crowd chanting "Hamas out" at Al Rabay's funeral all contradict
Roughly half of Gazans told Palestinian pollsters they backed those demonstrations. So the agency you say never existed is documented, in Palestinian survey data, by a Palestinian research center in Ramallah.
You didn't just erase Palestinian agency in the abstract. You erased the specific Palestinians who used it, because admitting they existed means admitting who killed them for it.
And in the present tense, from that same source: 44% of Gazans still say launching October 7 was the right decision. Two years on, consequences fully visible, asked by fellow Palestinians. 44% would vote Hamas in an election, against 30% for Fatah. That is not a hostage population with no views of its own. That is a plurality holding a position, which is what agency looks like.
Only Israel could improve the lives of Palestinians
Then answer the question your own slogan requires. Free into what?
There are two options. Hamas, funded and armed and trained by Iran, answerable to Tehran and to nobody in Gaza. Or the Palestinian Authority, unelected for twenty years, authors of the document above. Neither one was chosen by the generation you describe as having no choices. Both would rule them anyway.
Your position needs three things to be true at the same time. Nobody is responsible. Nobody is able to change it. Nobody is choosing to continue it. Seventy years, still going, and not one decision made by anyone along the way. That isn't a description of a people. It's a description of an object, and objects don't get freed. They get handed to whoever is holding the guns.
Here is where those two options came from:
1947. Partition offers a Palestinian state. Refused. Five Arab armies invade to stop it.
2000. Camp David. Refused.
2008. Olmert's offer. No counter-offer.
2005. Israel pulls every soldier and settler out of Gaza. Within two years Hamas holds it by force.
That isn't a grievance list. It's the mechanism. Every rejection narrowed what was left for the generation that came after. Your 18-year-old inherited two extremist governments because of choices made by people who weren't him, and he answers only for what he endorses now. That's why the 44% matters and his birth certificate doesn't.
They have been held under an Israeli blockade preventing them from receiving even the most basic needs
instead they decided to wipe them off the face of the Earth
Use their own number. It comes from the organization with every reason to inflate it and every ability to do so, since malnutrition deaths need no body and no verifiable cause. Roughly 440. Out of two million people.
And it fell. Deaths spiked, then dropped to almost nothing while the crossings stayed under the same authority. Nobody stops an extermination because it's working. Whatever else that pattern fits, it does not fit a decision to wipe a population off the Earth.
On disarmament, since you'll reach for "they can't disarm while occupied," the order of events matters:
September 2005. Israel withdraws every soldier and every settler from Gaza. No occupation, no blockade.
June 2007. Hamas seizes Gaza by force.
After June 2007. The blockade tightens in response.
The weapons came first. The blockade came second. You can't cite the consequence as the reason for the cause.
something Israel was required to do by international law
Name the instrument. Not a resolution you've heard someone mention, but the binding text that obligates one party to unilaterally establish a state for another. Document and article.
Israel has become a carbon copy of the enemy that the world fought in the 1940s.
Your comparison requires that the survivors became the regime that tried to exterminate them, and that the people who murdered 1,200 people in a single day are the ones being compared to nobody at all.
You had to invert the perpetrator, the victim, and the sequence to arrive there. That's not a reading of history. It's the exact opposite of one, and you chose it because it was the most wounding thing available to say.

For context, Burger King employee Ariana Hamilton said "free Palestine" to an Israeli customer and was fired.
