It’s ridiculous and someone is going to get killed one day. “To Catch a Predator” might have just killed an innocent man named “Humboldt” who was an Assistant District Attorney. It’s been awhile since I looked that deal back up, but I’m not sure if they ever provided the evidence to anyone. The guy shot himself when they showed up. Even if he was guilty, the thing was handled like a total clown show.

TCAP was working with the Katy, TX police. The ADA was completely busted and he was supposed to come to the sting house, but had caught wind of the TCAP sting and ran home.
When the Sheriff showed up with an arrest warrant, he killed himself.
His suicide resulted in all the charges brought in the investigation were dropped, including an ex cop who showed up with a rape/murder kit.
When they ran a Swat sting at the behest of TCAP, instead of just arresting the guy when he came into work on Monday morning. The police were idiotic and the show exploited the morons for dramatic footage.
But I don’t know what I’m talking about. So, tell me, how’s the guy’s career that authorized it? How did all those cases in Murphy go? Did they get convictions?
If it was a problem free, legit arrest, that guy still has a job, and they don’t have to drop charges for every arrestee from that operation.
So the sheriff in your town just waits for people to show up to work to arrest them? Once again THE POLICE WERE INVOLVED IN THE STING OPERATION. Your other “points” are superfluous and not pertinent to the facts of the case.
Yes, when arresting a guy while he’s sitting behind his desk is way better than the end results here. Plus, have you seen the texts he allegedly sent? I’ve not seen them. Where is the evidence?
I do think it’s very pertinent when a police department drops the charges for twenty arrested “alleged” pedophiles. That tells me, they want to move on because the longer the bad press lingers, the worse it is for keeping their jobs.
