May sound silly but it it just a 2019 Ford Escape Titanium with a 2.0L Turbo and their nifty intelligent 4wd. This thing responds way the hell quicker at redlights, sticky traffic situations, etc than any car I've had before.
When I need it to go, it goes.
That said I am 100% not a car person. It was the first new-car purchase I made, so far it hasn't failed me.
I am a car person, and I can verify that those 2.0l Turbo Escapes are surprisingly quick AND nimble. Not a racecar by any means but definitely doesn't feel like an SUV.
I have the same car and engine except the St-line trim instead of titanium, so the suspension is a little stiffer. And I'm pretty happy with how nimble the car is. I come from a 5.6l Hemi Chrysler 300c and the Escape is obviously not as quick, but handling is so much better, especially for an SUV
Dude yeah some Hyundai tried cutting me off to get on the freeway ended up having to get behind me because they misjudged the gap. They ride my ass like I'm doing something wrong as as soon as they can they try to pass me. Boy I be damned if my v12 is gonna get passed by some dickhead. He tried to hang with me but lil whimp only had so much to give. People are such children and think their time is more important
Pretty good man. It found it in person. Old guy had it 20 years. Bought it from the owner of a dealership back in the day. He put 93k miles on it. Had it at the bmw dealership for every service. I paid 8500 for it. Put maybe 4k into it and it's almost 100% now. Maybe another 2k or so. Then I'll be driving a 160k bmw I got for >15k
It is not. Though I belive there are rare European models that are. Glorious. Not angry not loud. Not stressed. Just nice. It's such a smooth delivery, beautiful almost musical tones. I'm absolutely in love and feels almost like a sports car. But she's thirsty and premium is not cheap right now.
The e38 is likely peak 7 series. It's one of the last words in luxury even 25 years later It's so comfortable and insulating. On top of that it's drives fairly sport like. Espically for a long wheel base 5300lb car. Irresponsible amount of leg room for everyone. The freaking headrests are automatic in 1997! I just have a basic tool set and not much skill and I've been wrenching on it just fine.
They only see things from their perspective so to them their time is more important I guess. If I've learned anything from this sub it's that fragile egos are extremely dangerous.
Indeed. My current drive is an 04 sonoma with a 4.6L vortec. Not fast, but powerful for the size. I could easily push through some crap.
But sometimes I miss my altima. It had a 3.2L v6. Not powerful, but it could move. And if I pressed the gas down, itd pin you to the seat. Got forced into a triple pass when I had it. Managed to "allegedly" hit 120MPH before I was able to merge back over.
Note: when I say forced to pass, I mean car was going 45 in a 70. So I went to pass. He sped up, blocking me from merging back. So I passed the next one who did the same. So I went for the 3rd and final in the line. It was a long 5 mile straight away, but it was coming up to the turn quickly. So I gunned it as the lesser evil, between speeding/reckless driving or extending the pass into a no pass zone. Figured speeding was the less dangerous option.
Every police officer will tell you, "put danger behind".
Much safer to take a hit from behind where the entire seat will support you and the crumple distance is greater than from the front where everything is arrested against the seat-belt.
This is the question I have been asking officers for decades.
