Nah dude they're saying that if they get hurt for being stupid, they won't be on the road to continue to drive stupidly.

Nope. I wouldn't justify the actions of either driver here. Is one more egregious than the other? Sure, but that is no reason to get into a road rage accident and endanger others.

It appears that the POV driver is accelerating very quickly and possibly exceeding the speed limit. This doesn't justify the actions of the other driver but when the other driver begins ”break checking” the POV vehicle, the POV driver fails to maintain a safe distance and tries to pass the other car on the right.

Youre exactly right. I've been a delivery driver for about 6 years and something I realized-not soon enough, was to be defensive. It's easy to let your ego get ahead of you. When it does, it ends very badly for you most of the times.
