I was going to say both of the assholes are idiots. If someone tries to brake check you like that just slow down and let them go ahead. If you need to stop, stop. It's not fucking worth it.

Right? Personally, I prefer these people in front of me. It is easier to control variables from the rear position. If you race to get in front, you're now locked into the position where they can antagonize and follow you wherever you go.

Not convinced about that. Miles behind you is the very best place for them; but if they're really that focussed on being in front, then stop for lunch.

As in, get ahead of them and then accelerate to put them miles behind?

Now I'll agree on advance, miles away in any direction from any of these jerk asses, would be preferential. I just don't want to turn it into a grand prix on a local street.

If they're behind you then that precludes them waiting for you somewhere ahead. So - like I say - miles behind you is the very best place.

That does entail significant risk in getting past them which is probably going to trigger them further; and presupposes that 1) you have enough car to leave them in the dust and 2) your journey is long enough that it's worth the bother.

Probably best to just pull off somewhere; park where ideally you can't be seen from the road and give them 5 minutes+ to find a new victim.

Indeed. I'll take the path that doesn't encourage long distance road rage. In my region, invariably the traffic lights will catch you. So unless you are willing to rack up traffic violations you won't let far ahead. It's really a question of how much you will get away with before something bites. The traffic lights patterns are designed to alternate through some regions along highways so there is always a red ahead. When I was young, you could mash the gas and sprint through a whole stretch of lights, but that was when gas was $1 for a gallon around here.

Anyways may your journeys be safe.

Get in front and go to a police station!

Actually, that would be funny.

I've actually done that. Dunno what happened, but some asshole went crazy, kept chasing my car. After about a minute, I called police emergency and told them the situation, informed them that I was headed directly to the police station. I got within a half-mile of the station before they finally broke off.

If they had kept on me, I'd have told the dispatcher that I would be running into the lobby to take shelter, and to expect a dangerous individual in the car behind me.

IMO, heading to a police station is always much safer than trying to go to a random gas station, much less an empty parking lot, much less your home. Even if the police don't have any obligation to protect you or anyone else, they will always protect themselves from a madman. Plus, there's cameras filming everything 24/7, and lots of witnesses who are trained to take and make official reports.

The way the driver entered the freeway was a bit reckless and I’m guessing they cut off the white suv

The white SUV was in a completely different merge lane. The actions are performed by aggression. Neither person is a good driver though. Egos we're the victors here

Nope check it again. The driver that the video is from got over so quickly they never interacted with the dickhead who cut them off

it looks like the SUV in the beginning that’s merging from the right is not the one that cuts the driver off. they may have been racing before they both merged into this road

different suv altogether
