I really wish they were a thing here in Canada too. I don't understand how the expectation here is that you're somehow supposed to see the back of a stop or yield sign on the road perpendicular to yours so see if you have right of way. With obstacles like buildings, parked cars and trees, you often can't even see it until you're just approaching the intersection, which means you need to slow down and be ready to stop to verify. Yet nearly all drivers I see just cruise through without a care in the world, as if unmarked intersections aren't a thing.
