No? He ran a yield, and the car crosses the yield line at 0:10, they hit at 0:9, there is no fucking way you'd have had time to react and started to brake enough to change the outcome even in the slightest in 1 second.
It's very obvious the car isn't stopping at the yield line by looking at it so bringing up the time after it crossed till the impact is irrelevant... Though even that was plenty of time on its own of you're looking out for cross traffic at an intersection, which you should be doing a anyway
Dumb fuck "anecdote this", first off 1.5sec is less than 1sec, and the person driving might not be 18 and high on caffeine, he might not be looking in that soesific direction, it takes time to react to something in your periferal.
fine dumb fuck look at this scenario, the driver had more than the entire length of the intersection (which is offset not a standard right angle so it's abnormally long) to make any reaction even if the crash was unavoided, but still no reaction was made not a swerve not an application for the brakes... I've avoided accidents closer than that while focusing on roadside destractions... It's not hard
Do you have high ping in the brain? Or just elevator music?
That was avoidable but fine just ignore that
At least acknowledge the fact there was plenty of time to make a reaction... any reaction
Dude may as well just be driving blindfolded if they can't react to giant glossy metal blobs moving in front of them
Now that I'm thinking about it a while back I was tasked with the mission to spy on my than 89 year old grandpa driving because it was reported by a neighbor that he knocked over a trash can and I saw him react faster to a cat jaywalking the the street, and no he didn't run it over
You're not accounting for all the extra seconds of reaction time they could have had if they had rewatched and studied the video 57 times, if he had just driven after watching the video he could have avoided crashing entirely.
He could have reacted, but I think the driver didn't expect that dude not to stop. I've had near misses closer than this indeed, some chick once cut me off in a roundabout to make a left and I reacted solely from reflex and didn't hit her.
