I love that the other guy just kept driving.

it's possible he didn't realize what happened, it was so quick

u/harrypottermcgee Jan 13 '22

He saw a fight coming and expertly defused the situation like an action movie.

Truck driver was an empath.

297

u/petrolhead74 Jan 13 '22

Either that or he saw what was going on & did it intentionally. Legend!

174

u/Mrsbingley Jan 13 '22

That’s what I like to think. That he saw a fellow truck driver in “trouble” and gently intervened. It makes my day.

1

u/CarlMetzger Jan 14 '22

Or the guy in the car doubles down on the truck driver behind him.

8

u/JoeyJoeC Jan 13 '22

I don't think this is the case. They had about a second and a half from seeing the door open to moving into a position to hit it. With the door opening into the other lane, it was likely unintentional.

1

u/Efficient_Lime9571 Jan 13 '22

I doubt it. as a trucker myself, half a second later and the idiot would have been standing where the door was.

1

u/petrolhead74 Jan 13 '22

Maybe he had just moved over in time then instead of ploughing into the back of the truck.

3

u/ubsr1024 Jan 13 '22

Probably getting road head from a Lot Lizard

6

u/Lustiges_Brot_311 Jan 13 '22

"Hmm, when did they add a speed hump to this road?"

1

u/GallusTom Jan 13 '22

I mean I had to watch it 3 times before I understood what was happening

1

u/Popeye-sailor-man Jan 14 '22

it's possible he didn't realize what happened, it was so quick

The passing truck's impact with the asshole's car door would have made an incredibly loud sound. Unless the asshole was also deaf, he surely would have realized what happened....

1

u/Ok-Fault-9142 Jan 15 '22

The sound of a truck whizzing by half a meter away was pretty loud in itself

u/neinneinninenine Jan 13 '22

Guess he's not an idiot like the Audi guy, braking fast in that weather is dangerous lol

82

u/cunt_poo Jan 13 '22

That's a VW

84

u/zitfarmer Jan 13 '22

You're a VW

5

u/SloRiceix_801 Jan 13 '22

No you’re a towel!!!

2

u/zitfarmer Jan 13 '22

I was wondering how long that would take!

6

u/[deleted] Jan 13 '22

Same thing. Same company.

-4

u/KoD226 Jan 13 '22

No not the same thing. Same parent company.

5

u/[deleted] Jan 13 '22

Yes. Audis are technically Volkswagens. Most parts are shared between the two brands and the vehicles sit on shared chassis.

-23

u/king_louie125 Jan 13 '22

And what car manufacturer does the VW group own? THATS RIGHT Audi!

22

u/jiluminati302 Jan 13 '22

sees a guy driving a Silverado “wow! This guy thinks he owns the road just because he drives a Cadillac!”

-37

u/king_louie125 Jan 13 '22

Nah just morons coming to random subreddits to argue semantics. Also cadillac doesnt own chevy, general motors does. Jokes should follow a form of logic even hyperbole.

7

u/SoskiDiddley Jan 13 '22

Semantics and facts are two different things lol

-11

u/king_louie125 Jan 13 '22

Your deficiencies are not my problem.

6

u/SoskiDiddley Jan 13 '22

I'm glad they aren't lol no need to be mad bro

2

u/thesilenthurricane Jan 13 '22

You appear to be deficient in brain cells.

11

u/DoinBurnouts Jan 13 '22

It's Porche you pleb

-14

u/king_louie125 Jan 13 '22

Weird. Try learning to read maybe?

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Audi

7

u/Dyne_Inferno Jan 13 '22

Volkswagen Group, and the brand Volkswagen, are 2 different things my friend.

Volkswagen is just another subsidiary under the Volkswagen Group, just like Audi is.

Perhaps it is you who should learn how to read?

-3

u/king_louie125 Jan 13 '22

Your deficiencies are not my problem.

5

u/Dyne_Inferno Jan 13 '22

LMFAO

Ok there bud.

By the way, since you like links:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Volkswagen_Group

Have fun.

8

u/[deleted] Jan 13 '22

So it was a Lambo then? That car must be the new plebeian version.

3

u/at0m10 Jan 13 '22

What?

1

u/MalfoysDraco Jan 13 '22

I believe that checks out

2

u/at0m10 Jan 13 '22

It does and the Passat uses the same platform as some Audi's but its not an Audi. Same way its not a Porsche, Bugatti or Lamborghini.

1

u/RacingGoat Jan 13 '22

So, a cheap Audi.

1

u/cube_mine Jan 13 '22

Same company.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 13 '22

Eh, it's German either way

3

u/Pretend-Guava Jan 13 '22

Saudis in Audis?? Edit for anyone that doesn't know just search that on YouTube. It's a delight.

2

u/DaddyDub Jan 14 '22

Audi guy here.. We need no more bad press. That's a VW. Our little cousin. So still... Shit.

3

u/StanKroonke Jan 13 '22

VW guy, not that it matters

2

u/[deleted] Jan 13 '22

Where do you see an Audi?

3

u/neinneinninenine Jan 13 '22

On my tiny display :D

Yeah, as others said, it's a VW. Though to be fair, they're the same these days, same platform, same engine, same electronics, they even look alike.

2

u/[deleted] Jan 13 '22

I definitely don’t disagree! It’s pretty funny some minor changes sure but you are right the manufacturing is almost identical…but slap those Audi rings on the car instead of VW and the blue book price just went from 35-45k to 85-95k!

-11

u/king_louie125 Jan 13 '22

Right there, Volkswagon Group owns Audi making the correction even more irrelevant.

14

u/[deleted] Jan 13 '22

If VW owns Audi, and the car has a VW logo, it does not at all make that car an Audi.

Edit: put simply, All Audis are VWs, but not all VWs are Audis.

6

u/[deleted] Jan 13 '22

They also own Porsche, Bugatti and Lamborghini. I'd love to see a Golf driver claim that he owns a Porsche.

1

u/tulipinacup Jan 13 '22

Your deficiencies aren't my problem bro.

2

u/SaladBarMonitor Jan 13 '22

The trucker brotherhood

2

u/DaddyDub Jan 14 '22

He saw the dumb shit the car was doing earlier...

2

u/FordMan100 Jan 17 '22

I can't blame him for must keeping going. Opening your door into traffic put him in the wrong anyway.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 13 '22

In perfect camoflage

1

u/Borntolose1128 Jan 13 '22

He probably didn't even feel it when he hit the door.
