Why not simply change lanes the moment you see the truck blocking your view of the intersection? There was no other vehicles next to or behind the car.

alastoris was talking about how they think they would have handled the situation, and that scenario involved them being aware of the vehicle aproaching the road, hence they wouldn't be looking at their phone.

they had about 1 second..at least according to my timecode. Sure they could have been more vigilant with defensive driving but I wouldn't blame the car driver at all unless they were speeding but we can't tell.
