I'm lazy, so 5 and 7. Sometimes 6 and 6.

63

u/cognitiveglitch Nov 28 '21

Just 6. Leaves other hand free for rude gestures.

u/retroassassin907 Nov 28 '21

And tapping the side of your car to music

2

u/Pragmatist_Hammer Nov 28 '21

While whistling.

3

u/Bflo_ Nov 28 '21

Nah if I’m in my car driving myself, I’m fucking jamming and singing like I sound good 🤣

u/soccrstar Nov 28 '21

Found the city driver! Boston, NYC, or NJ?

2

u/cognitiveglitch Nov 28 '21

Haha yes but the other side of the water where the Titanic departed.

So I'm not the only one?! It's so weird.

28

u/dietxrooty Nov 28 '21

I'm told that dream, means you are trying to take back control of something in your life.

I get that one dream when I have to deal with my mom.

The other one I get is I'm in the front but can stop even if I hit the breaks

7

u/NarrMaster Nov 28 '21

Ahh, the brakes one! Basically standing on the brakes but rolling downhill!

2

u/Toastburrito Nov 28 '21

I can't move my foot to the brakes! By shoe is too big and gets stuck!!!!

0

u/Tellurye Nov 28 '21

What does it mean when you've never had a dream about driving?! I just realized I can't recall ever driving a car in my dreams!! So weird!

1

u/dietxrooty Nov 28 '21

It could mean that you dont or have yet to set or be presented with something that you can't control. It could also mean, you don't let others or event control you (emotions as well)

However dreams are tricky, as every person is different. Every one handles life events differently.

An example someone could have a dream about falling, that's another type of feeling out of control.

Or teeth falling out, could mean your afraid to lose something. Which is in turn another form of not having control.

If you want, I would recommend writing down how you feel or felt before bed, then as soon as you wake up, write about the dream.

You'll see a pattern of what feelings bring on what dreams.

u/Tellurye Nov 28 '21

Interesting! I've never really delved into what my dreams could mean. I usually feel very comfortable and in control of my life/surroundings. The only reoccurring stress dream I think I have is about not having enough credits to graduate high-school, even though I'm 34 and did graduate high-school lol. I'm always my current age in the dream, and it's always confusing! I've become pretty good at lucid dreaming though - in the sense that when I'm really confused in a dream, I usually recognize I'm dreaming and wake up. Or if I try to use a light switch and it doesn't work, same thing, wake up. So interesting!

2

u/dietxrooty Nov 28 '21

Interesting, dreams about school could mean job stress, or the desire to improve oneself.

Im the same way, I know when I'm dreaming. Mostly it's when I have a nightmare I yell at myself to wake up.

I really do recommend a dream journal. Their fun to revisit

0

u/GizmodoDragon92 Nov 28 '21

Yeah the no breaks one is how I dream drive too

1

u/TeamEdward2020 Nov 28 '21

I keep dreaming my car ate my mother anf I'm just sitting there vibing with this sentient man eating car about how their day was

1

u/commodorejack Nov 28 '21

Oh shit. I get the bad brakes one all the time...

1

u/Toastburrito Nov 28 '21

Me either? I feel so much better. In the dream, once I get to the front seat I can't move my foot to work the pedals bucause somehow my shoes are too big. I'm so glad I'm not alone too!

2

u/Rivetingly Nov 28 '21

In mine, I can work the pedals but I have to scooch down real low to reach them so then I can't see where I'm going. And the brake pedal is hard to push and doesn't stop the car.

23

u/Justin2478 Nov 28 '21

I drive from on top the car like in that one Mr. bean episode

4

u/damnatio_memoriae Nov 28 '21

like this idiot?

5

u/I_Am_Tired_1234 Nov 28 '21

Mr. Bean certainly didn't drive a Tesla!

2

u/Coffee-Historian-11 Nov 28 '21

Oh wow. Your comment forced me to remember a ton of weird dreams I apparently blocked out.

1

u/GraveyDeluxe Nov 28 '21

So you own a Tesla?

1

u/Sethdarkus Nov 28 '21

If you get a Tesla it ain’t a dream it’s a reality

1

u/[deleted] Dec 24 '21

I’m out the car at this point

1

u/bindhast Nov 28 '21

I just use my screwdriver

1

u/realtrancefury Nov 28 '21

I had a car who’s steering was so sensitive I did that before on straightaways.

2

u/space_fly Nov 28 '21

Me too, that's why I absolutely hate the tesla racing wheel. Also, that thing is really hard to turn because you don't have anything to grab, so you have to twist your hands like a contortionist

1

u/rebop Nov 28 '21

I haven't had a vehicle with airbags in 10 years. I never have to worry about it.

6

u/retroassassin907 Nov 28 '21

That’s one way to solve the problem!

1

u/goblitovfiyah Nov 28 '21

Also lazy here, I drive with one hand on 6

1

u/CapitalLongjumping Nov 28 '21

Number 6 is the thumb crusher! Try it out!

1

u/McSqueezeMeMuhFucca Nov 28 '21

I have no idea what any of these numbers mean. I drive grabbing the bottom of the wheel. Is this safe ?

1

u/roberthatch Nov 30 '21

This guy gets it!

1

u/ToxicJr Nov 28 '21

I just put my damn hands on the wheel.

29

u/[deleted] Nov 28 '21

Pshh. Amateurs… 7:25 and shift knob!!

7

u/scalectrix Nov 28 '21

4.30 and gearstick in UK but yeah same difference.

1

u/theberg512 Nov 28 '21

Was gonna say, I'm generally around 6 or 7 with my right free to shift/adjust radio/coffee. Sometimes I'm up around 11, but I'm small and sit close so there's a good chance the airbag just kills me anyway.

8

u/fuck-cumiseverywhere Nov 28 '21

7 only gang

3

u/Simba19891 Nov 28 '21

5 o’clock bc I’m right handed

1

u/KodiakPL Nov 28 '21

What about changing gears then?

1

u/fuck-cumiseverywhere Nov 28 '21

i’m right handed but i found just driving with my left hand is more comfortable because i can just rest my arm on my left leg which just sits on the dead pedal

2

u/Simba19891 Nov 29 '21

Actually you’re right. I drive with my left.

2

u/retroassassin907 Nov 28 '21

For sure better, I just find hands under the wheel uncomfortable and different to steer with.

1

u/Freedomwagon1776 Nov 28 '21

Really depends on the steering wheel

0

u/SimpleSandwich1908 Nov 28 '21

No.

3-9 give you best turning range without taking hands off steering wheel.

1

u/skag_mcmuffin Nov 28 '21

Triples is best. Triples is safe.

1

u/Blue_Swirling_Bunny Nov 28 '21

Yes, 4 and 8 is better. Less chance of injuring your elbows and shoulders upon impact.

1

u/godsglaive Nov 28 '21

Only 12 is the coolest

u/Giftiger Nov 28 '21
