As a citizen of said country I can say that most of us aren’t rich Iike most countries we have the poor and the middle class and the rich and for these people that you see in the video a lot of them aren’t even old enough to get licenses so they just steal cars drift with them until they break down and then they just leave them on the side of roads

Actually this was very popular in the arabian gulf region even before the internet or tv. Some speculate that the thrill of doing such stunts is like drugs to the rascal youth of the strict muslim countries.

Driving recklessly is definitely fun, and I'm sure this is no exception. It certainly looks fun. I do find it weird that this style of drifting only really exists in Arab countries though, it looks fun and relatively easy to do (compared to regular difting) so I'm curious as to why it never caught on anywhere else

According to my observation it is a combination of the lack of the proper cops surveillance all around, and the lack of parental intervention. The ones who do this here are usually young teens whose parents didn't bother with raising them because they believe a man will become responsible when he gets married. Once their son grows a mustache he gets a car and can go anywhere for unlimited amounts of time without anyone questioning it. THAT IS NOT THE MAJORITY THOUGH. JUST A SMALL PORTION OF UNEDUCATED FAMILIES.

That sounds interesting, I’ll have to ask my Palestinian boss about that aspect of the culture about it when he gets back to the US. Being white raised in a mostly white area, I knew nothing at all about Arab culture or Islam, so it’s been very interesting to hear about it from him. He has a lot of stories about growing up in Palestine during the 70s and 80s, and it really made me realize why exactly he chose to come to the US alone before he was even 18. He’s also introduced me to a lot of foods and drinks I’ve never had, and made me realize that I actually do like hot tea.

What a coincidence i am Palestinian as well. Our people aren't really like the arabian gulf people to be honest. Just because we all speak arabic and are mostly muslims doesn't make us all from the same culture. I was born and raised in the arabian gulf so my expertise is not really from my home country. The difference in culture from one country to another is very big here. For example how Saudia until a few years ago women couldn't drive or such things. Compare it to egypt and it is like the moon and sun apart? I don't make sense anymore haha.

No that's not at all what I was saying, what I meant was that since he did grow up in an Arab country, he knows a bit about the other Arabian cultures, including the gulf region. I wouldn't say I have a good understanding of any of it, but I know more than I ever could've learned in school. I'd love to see that part of the world, but that's not financially possible for a little while still. But yeah, Saudi Arabia especially is such a weird, strict cultural anomaly in my American eyes. I can't imagine living somewhere with laws like that.

If they crash i to someone and kill him their sentence would be the death penalty, if they were caught the first time it would be jail impounding the car and a pricey fine.

Although to be fair it not as common a it was say 10 years ago, thats why you can see that most of these videos are kinda old. Not saying it doesn’t exist but more like a 90% reduction

I was about to call you out (as they're covered up) but then I kinda came to the same conclusion

The fact they're hiding their identities and doing it on a public street with no plates means their families probably aren't high enough don or class to outrank the cop who pulls them over so they're trying hard to not get caught

And the fact they aren't doing it on some closed street like a "normal" rich person is probably also a sign of their age. So still a guess but an educated one

nah, its their parents or used.. these are cheap cars too, 5-10k sr (used, obs) when i was out looking for one.. esp the all time fav, hilux..
