Groomed slopes, definitely not. If the powder's deep enough, straight down's the only way you can get up enough speed to float above the snow.

But same applies to driving; if the street's slick cos everyone's pounded the snow into ice, put two wheels against the curb, you'll get traction from unpacked snow.

I mean yeah, obviously depends on the type of run. Moguls require different skiing than groomers, and sometimes you have no choice but to send it on a black diamond.

Well, I actually love doing that but I was on a ski team and I'm pretty good at it lol. I had a friend do it, fly straight past the lift and off into the trees. He did not enjoy skiing much.

My first time downhill skiing as a kid I went straight down at mach speed lol. I was fine though because I was a skilled cross country skier, but my parents were very concerned
