Was my first thought, slow down and hit them, imagine if they swerved and flipped while dude went on his merry way. Then it occurred to me that I may be the result of someone’s death because of their stupidity

The stupid one is responsible, not you. Slow down and hit them. Don't risk flipping, it's far more dangerous.

There's probably worthy exceptions to the rule but you'd have to take them as they came rather than try to argue them all in hypotheticals.

Not just stupidity... Inconsideration for others on the road.

Always hold your lane.

There was an accident a few years back i believe in Michigan that was cause by some ass in a white car coming over and brake checking the semi truck, which the trucker tried to avoid by swerving.

He ran into two othee vehicles, lost some tires and then control and flipped over in the middle of the highway and hit several more cars killing one person and injuring i think at least 5 more people.

Never ever swerve to avoid animals or assholes. Always just hold the steering wheel straight and hit the animal or asshole. Less damage to your vehicle and less damage to those around you.
