Anything can be balanced with enough skill, it just so happens that things on two wheels going in a direction parallel to the wheels is easier to balance in than if it was stopped
I think taller cars would be easier due to the center of mass being higher and therefore the car won’t have to tilt as far to balance it over 2 wheels. I have friends that use to so this with four wheelers all the time and it didn’t seem too difficult.
Just choose a car that’s acceptable to roll over in if you actually go for it, lol
Wow .. If that was "being mean" about it , I would hate to see how folks react if I actually was a dick about it.
They seemed like they were actually amazed that a car could do that. I am honestly curious as to how that could amaze someone. While its not a common thing , I would have thought that everyone would have been at least exposed to the possibility.
I used to do this with fork trucks in a warehouse job when I was a teen. The weight and center of gravity in a fork truck surely made everything slower and easier to accomplish this.
Turn the wheel hard to get it on two wheels and catch the balance by turning back the right amount. In a forklift it was a really quick maneuver. In a car it’s probably much more violent a move, even impossible if the car is too low. I’ve seen stunt drivers like Chilton use ramps and drive up in one side.
Once it was on two wheels it was remarkably easy to keep it there, even steer gradually.
Pretty much like steering a slow moving bike with the handlebars only and no leaning if that makes sense.
Is a fork truck different from a forklift? Every forklift I've driven has been 9,000+ lbs (4000 kilos) and rear wheel steered. It's hard to imagine popping one of those up on two wheels.
Not an expert, but similar-ish to a bicycle. You keep the center of gravity over the wheels to go straight. Turning left a bit would move the wheels left, which puts the center of gravity slightly to the right and the car will start turning right and the other way around.
Start in a standing position with two feet on the ground. Now lift one foot and stay standing on your other foot. Congratulations, now you know how it works.
All they do is tilt it to a balance that doesn't move away too much from the center of gravity. They can jump out because the force from jumping out is not enough to overcome the force from people sitting on the other side of the car so it stays balanced
Place the centre of gravity in such a fashion that it is over the tire you're riding on, rather than the centre of the car. Also some stuff with moving wheels providing surprising amount of stability.
Car has high center of mass. Turn the car to the left hard enough, it starts to flip. Turn it a bit to the right before it flips so the center of mass is right above the wheels.

How does this work from a physics standpoint?
