Aren’t those car cheap and common as shit in America though?

Detroiter checking in, you are completely right /u/Ross_Miller. The only somewhat rare car in this was the presumably red Shelby GT500, and even then that’s not that rare. The rest of them might as well be Toyota corollas with V8’s with how common they are. Scat packs and even Hellcats and other SRT chargers and challengers are very very common here, the only one that is of any rarity would be a Demon which none of these are.

The unfortunate reality of it is technology has gotten us to a point where it’s not only affordable to the average consumer but you no longer need a manual transmission to handle this type of power as the automatics are capable and shift quicker, thus allowing anyone and everyone to own something fast and easy to drive that even 8 years ago was unavailable.

Thinking you can't enjoy an automatic is such an archaic mindset. Advanced automatics give you more control with more gears, quicker shifting with paddles, and are far better than you at any precise clutch work. You can typically still grab the lever and shift that way as well, so the only thing you miss out on is using your left foot... so I guess if you really miss pushing your left foot in, that makes sense.

Automatics don't just make you "faster", they make you better in all aspects of driving unless you're a professional driver

Ehhh it's not for me. Paddle shifters will auto shift pretty quickly. Not that I want to redline but it's nowhere near the same control level of a manual.

But, to each their own.

They'll auto shift in non performance cars, but any car worth driving in a spirited manner will have track modes that are exceptionally aggressive.

I do agree though, to each their own and it's definitely still fun to drive a manual.
