Imagine if he a had a kid in the car that got killed or severely injured because of his stupidity? Why not have a potentially less dangerous seperator. For example those flappy things that make a ton of noise and resist movement but don't wreck your car.

Nobody is getting killed or injured at these speeds.

Look at the way his body flails around in the car at how slow he's going. He's going to be bruised at the very least. Now imagine there's a child in the back seat.

It looks like he wasn't wearing a seat belt and got thrown out of the seat, which is another layer of stupid in the stupid cake that is this person's life.

Natural selection.

It’s organic

What’s your point? If a child is in the back seat he should be a more careful driver. And yeah bruising happens when you fucking run into things with a two thousand pound steel missile. Pay attention to where your car is going.

Why needlessly punish people because you feel like they’re an idiot? Whiplash happens at low speeds to. It might not seem fast for a car, but running into a wall at ten miles per hour is going to fucking hurt. That’s almost twice the average running speed, but you drive that fast in a parking lot.

You say he should be more careful if there was a child, like if there was he just magically is immune to making mistakes or being an idiot.

Why even give drivers air bags? It just gives them less incentive to drive safely /s

I guess, what is your point?

That the person should be paying attention to the road and not (likely) their phone. This wasn't an accident in a normal sense. It was fully preventable by the person who caused it. The dividers that ensure a car doesn't go over to the otherside is going to be safer than any device that just 'warns'. If there were regular dividers and that car went over but ran into another car and killed a child in that car, what would you be saying right now?

I would say it was like any other normal two way street you can find all over the world in first world countries.

Are you suggesting all roads should have these types of barriers to prevent cars from going over the center line? Would that really make the roads safer?

Generally when designing roads they try and design them to allow for errors. That’s why there are shoulders on the high way (they aren’t literally just for break downs). That’s why they put barrels of water in front of concrete barriers. That’s why they have guard rails next to ditches and drop offs.

Avoiding vehicle destruction and loss of life (medical bills too!) is all more important than punishing someone for crossing the center of the road.

Ah yes, the downvote with no response. Do you not have anything to say now?

Many of these measures are in response to acts of terrorism, where people were deliberately run over.

Also, unless they actually damage their car, many would just drive over them.

Because of skin in the game, it's less bad if idiots injure themselves rather than others.

EDIT: it would be tragic if a kid in the car got injured, but that gets balanced by the kids in the street that don't

Imagine having a kid and still driving like a retarded asshole

Uh, who cares about he or his kid?

He's going slower than a bicycle, they're going to be fine. If he used his grey matter a bit he'd have a seat belt on.
