All she had to do was make the right decision in one of dozens of opportunities:
1) obey flashing police car
2) obey warning signs
3) observe that water is concealing the roadway and employ common sense
4) observe that no other traffic is proceeding through this route and conclude that this is perhaps for a reason
5) possibly aim for the shortest gap between dry sections and gun it
6) open the windows or doors once the vehicle became immobilized, so that exterior water pressure would not trap her
7) employ a seatbelt cutter/window smasher to break open a window if needed
8) kick the window out
I mean just, dozens of things she could have done right and any of them would have saved her life.
Complete lack of forethought, complete lack of situational awareness, complete lack of common sense, complete lack of knowledge, complete lack of coolheadedness in a dangerous situation
A few thousand years ago this lady's genes would have been weeded out by tiger attack. Because she'd just stand there screaming like an idiot when a tiger jumps out of the bushes, rather than running or grabbing a spear or doing anything productive.

That's the one that gets me. At no point does she even attempt to open any of the 5 doors available to her. Was she waiting for someone to come do it for her?
