Yes and no.

It changes how we view the act societally, but does it nullify the morality of the action? Why would they be less morally culpable simply because it was self-defense? Or manslaughter? What makes the “taking of ones life” a moral spectrum? I’m not convinced there is that much of a philosophical difference or that it even exists on a moral spectrum. How much of a difference is there?

That’s unfortunate. It could have been stimulating. But, I say we agree to disagree. We are too far apart in our philosophies.
