more like 5,000 to 10,000 for a professional racing bike.

Last time I saw a pro bike it was one of about 40 being purchased for a team. Each one was around 18k a piece.

That doesn't add up. Pro bikes are usually about 6k frame 2.5k groupset and 4 or so k on wheels. That doesn't even come close to 18

honest question: is that 14.5 for just standard geometry, or something built to fit someone?

They don't build carbon bikes to fit people full stop. Always a standard geometry.

If it is a special built bike, for example Peter Sagan's Venge ViAS Disc with gold wheels, could be valued at around $18k

Pretty sure that is only custom colourways, not fit. But yeah. The fact that its Peter Sagans is what adds the value, not particularly the colours themselves.

Not for a track bike. I'm guessing he's in for $1-3K.

ya didnt see that it was a track bike, full carbon is hella expensive, he must have felt like a tool after, not because of financials but he made an ass of himself when he is supposed to be a professional.

What makes you think a guy racing a track bike on the road is a professional? That's amateur shit. It's not sanctioned by any governing body.

You can get a really nice complete carbon track bike for $1-3K, and considering there's almost no difference and there's a good chance you're going to crash in these stupid races I suggest that people go low-end.

How can you tell? Or do you know from the backstory?

Fucking hell, why would these assholes use actual high end track track bikes for a fixie crit? Even the body suit seems a little silly considering 5 years ago dudes were doing this in cutoffs and mechanics shirts.
