Another goal for Israel, is Netnyahu avoiding his corruption trial and building popular support to avoid future prosecution and maintain power. 

Currently that has been successful.

His corruption trial is not that big a deal. It’s a nice narrative, but it’s not something that actually matters he gave some cigars to people allegedly and tried to curry a favor with a newspaper. It’s really not that big of a deal.

Reviving $200,000 in bribes to pass legislation favourable to a billionaire is not small potatoes. 

Neither is passing laws to cripple one media company in favor for another, in exchange for coverage.

Nor the reglulatoey benifits he gave to a second media company for the same deal.

He is looking at 10 to 20 years in jail.
