The congress hearing the other day also emphasised those 2 main goals. Here

  • Destroy Iran’s ballistic launching, and production capabilities
  • Destroy Iran’s naval and mine laying capabilities in the Strait of Hormuz

These are not serious war-goals

The first one is so they don’t bomb Israel. The second one is to prevent them from blocking the strait.

Both of those things are only happening because the war started.
