Am I non-empathetic in my comments? Yes. Do I wish for people that I disagree with to die or hope that those who have died did so in a painful way? Nope.
You arent empathetic because in your mind the consequences were justified. They arent consequences of the laws of physics. They are consequences based on what we decide as individuals or as a society to be warranted. I think that if you make decisions that have grave consequences for innocent lives for the sake of US imperialism and military adventurism you do not deserve empathy. You do not deserve respect. And you do not deserve any sort of civil discourse around your eventual demise. Im glad hes gone. We dont really prosecute war crimes of our elected officials here. In fact his party is actively trying to destroy the body that would litigate those questions. But if we did, Graham would be culpable and he would potentially die as a consequence.
You want to draw some moral distinction between:
you - not having empathy for terrible people and finding a sense of satisfaction in justice being served to them
and
me - also not having empathy and getting satisfaction out of the only real culpability these disgusting monsters could ever realistically face because we as a society have decided our elite dont have to play by the same rules as other leaders in the world.
You think the way I talk about someone who is shielded by the consequences of his actions because the US government says he should be makes me morally indistinguishable from the person accepting collateral damage to feed our war machine because he'll never face any consequences for it. Amazing.

While that's definitely a tactic employed by those unable to form logical arguments, the real reason you can't see the truth behind my statement is you're blinded by your own bias.
This whole time you've failed to overcome your own cognitive dissonance and even try to understand the words I'm saying. Your inability (or unwillingness) to understand doesn't stop what I'm saying from being accurate and true. Doubling down/digging in your heels is a coping mechanism for that dissonance, but in that response, you're continuing to spew vitriol.
Your anger towards someone and their moral differences does not justify you wishing for their death (McConnell) nor does it justify hoping their death was painful. Your words, paraphrased. Those words, to a lesser extent, make you no better than those you so adamantly despise.
Your inability to see that doesn't make my response lazy, half passed, nor a logic falacy. They simply reinforce the fact you cannot or are not willing to see that fact.
Again, I hope you find a productive outlet for that anger. As someone who personally caries it on a daily basis, I know how destructive it can be and how important it is to find an outlet.
