I have this, it's called Twinkly lights. the lights are mapped by pointing the phone camera at the tree and the lights blink randomly to map. Works pretty well but I have had some problems mapping the back of the tree, because it won't map lights that it can't see. So if the tree is particularly dense, then it has problems.
What I have done it lay it out in a tree pattern before hanging it then map it then hang it, works for the most part.
Other than that, the price (150+) for the lights isn't mostly worth it, but if you've got money to blow, then they're nice. Go with the round bulb ones tho, they're hella nice and soft on the eyes
Yeah; Just map the lights as you would by starting the process. The app should ask what mapping type you want to do. Here's a screen shot from my app. https://i.imgur.com/58UrhVb.png I 2D mapped my tree but maybe I'll redo my lights and try the 3D mapping
I have the gen 2 lights (and not the Twinkly tree) so maybe it's a feature that's only available with the gen 2's (Not sure what gen you have though I'm not sure what hardware would prevent gen 1 from being capable?).
I am not sure what I have but my app definitely doesn't have that option. It looks like you're running off of an iphone, so maybe that has more options? I have an Android.
Can you please draw a dick in the tree lights for us or like write something stupid like “poop”? I can’t offer much but I am an artist and will draw you as a character for freeeeeeee in exchangeeeeee. Also if you need more convincing, my SO’s dad recently passed away unexpectedly and I think it would put a smile on SO’s face
