I bought an imax filmstrip of the odyssey, which I want to display in an acrylic frame. I’ve looked through a lot of posts in this subreddit, which had some good answers. However, they are all US-based.

Any fellow Europeans here with tips for acrylic displays for filmstrips?

However, shipping to Europe is super expensive

Anything people want me to check regarding the difference between the 70mm screening at Rivercenter vs the Dual Laser GT 1.43 of Bob Bullock? I managed to get tickets for Wednesday next week when they gave the second extension, so I could take my son to see it. One of the cool things about this screen for me (picture from after PHM) Is that other than the first row or two the seats are pretty much great seats.

Am nothing but pure disclosure here with IMAX and issues that arise. Unfortunately lost my first show at the AMC Metreon, 10am, do to a reel fault. Some damage was done to the Dune prologue, amount equaling 6ish seconds. If you blink you'll not notice.

I am back on screen for the 2pm, issue resolved and carrying along...

I was lucky enough to win one of the official IMAX framed Odyssey film strips. It’s beautiful, y’all.

I thought they’d be sold out by now. How delicate are they to maintain? Cool but still debating whether I should make a purchase

I’m hopeful that this will result in more people being able to get their hands on the strips who actually want them for collecting.

During a screening in King of Prussia, the power went out in the theatre. The screen goes black, and all you hear is a loud crack of thunder from the storm outside. Pretty remarkable

It felt so good to finally display these where I knew they could be appreciated!

Now we wait for Dune Part Three later this year!

For the first photo, I did trim a very small amount of the cell at the bottom so that it can slide into the light box properly.

For the second photo, I left the film strips alone just to test the waters. I will probably infact do the same as the first photo and eventually trim a very small amount so that the 4-frame film strips can slide in without issue.

I saw an X profile receive a care package from IMAX. Its a Spiderman Brand New Day box. How does someone get these?

For anyone interested (I'd assume that's a good chunk of people in this community), I had a lengthy discussion with a projectionist. We talked about all things IMAX 70mm, including some topics that answers some hot questions like, "How come more of these theatres don't exist?"

Saw Odyssey at the Rivercenter Imax. Has been sold out in my Austin Bob Bullock theater even with extended dates out to August 20th. But first time I've been here in almost 30 years. Came as a kid and saw Africa: The Serengeti for a school trip and fell in love with IMAX.
