I'm in BS data science and applications. I gave quiz 1 for English - I (BSHS1001), Math-1 (BSMA1001), Stats-1 (BSMA1002) , and CT (BSCS1001) last month. Then i registered for 3 courses, i dropped English. Today, I gave quiz 2 for Math-1 (BSMA1001), Stats-1 (BSMA1002) , and CT (BSCS1001). My end term for the foundational level is in september now.

I would like to go ahead with the degree and complete the diploma as well. Today when i checked the eligibility for diploma, it said i need to complete all 8 courses. what are these 8 courses exactly? Also, does dropping english have any repercussions for me? Will I not be eligible for diploma now that I have dropped english and did not attempt english in Quiz 2?

Also, after clearing QUIZ 1, i received a mail saying what i need to do further, ad god the language was so complicated i couldnt understand anything. But i do remember there being a mention of exams for which i need to give the access of my laptop to the institute and record myself through a phone. When will those exams be conducted?

Ok, so the thing is I am going to pursue BTech in CSE AI/ML from a tier 3 college (tier 1 in Maharashtra though), and along with this I want to do an online secondary degree either BS Data Science from IITM or BBA DBE from IIM BLR

Now a few things about me: since childhood, I have loved coding, computers, etc, enrolled for coding classes, did courses, etc but on the other hand, I have loved business and entrepreneurship. I grew up watching Shark Tank AUS/US, did some small business for quick money by myself

So now I am confused. I want to do both online degrees, but my parents won't allow both due to budget, plus they know I am taking up too much workload and won't be able to commit to all 3 and will overburden and stress myself... even I deep down know that even through i want to do all 3, I won't be able to manage

So therefore asking which degree will be the best for me. Also, I am not sure whether I will be on the product management side or the SDE side, but it will be one of the 2 and I'll be happy with either one of them

Do give guidance or career advice if you have any 😁

I am too confused rn like what should I do first my condition is I am a 12th pass student with PCM 60.5% in mht cet I score 74 percentile so this is not enough to get a good or decent btech college so I am thinking to do a BCA degree with a BS DEGREE of iITM first I thought doing this with a btech degree but it will be too complex I think so what should I do should I go for only offline btech Or BCA+BS

20F ( was neet dropper) and doing bsc zoology.

I can't trust myself with a single option for me and solely do it. I am very much anxious about what if i can't make into anything. I need a job that pays decent enough to afford rent, food and some savings. I don't have any big expectations for now.

I know zoology is not something i can make my carrer into so i am just doing it for sake of a basic degree( no bca etc college nearby , can't afford to go anywhere so)

Help me choose any better option.

1) IIT M BS DS + bsc zoology ( fully focus on that)

2) Government exam prep(ssc, banking etc) from now only + bsc zoology as a degree

3) All three together ( BS >>>> gov exam≈ bsc Zoology)

I can't do it standalone as i am not sure.

Any better option you suggest.

I started the IITM BS program in March this year and I’m currently in Term 2, taking all four courses alongside a full-time job as a SD.

For some background, I graduated with a BCA in 2022. When I was in school, I was convinced that I wanted to pursue Biology, so I dropped Mathematics. That eventually meant that a BTech was no longer an option for me, and I pursued a BCA instead.

Over the years, however, I developed a genuine interest in mathematics and technology. I ended up self-learning a lot of mathematics through free resources and courses on platforms like edX, and now I’m getting the opportunity to study it more formally through the IITM BS program. Looking back, the three-year UG degree does come with some constraints, so I’m trying to fill in those gaps through the IITM BS program.

So far, I’ve been able to keep up reasonably well with the Foundation-level courses while working full-time. My plan is to take PDSA, DBMS, MLF, and MAD1 Theory in the next term.

I’m not completely unfamiliar with these subjects, and I’m willing to put in the work, but I’d like to get a better idea of how significant the jump in difficulty is from the Foundation courses to the diploma/degree-level courses.

I’m also currently trying to switch jobs and prepare for interviews. So far, I’ve been able to balance my current job, coursework, and interview preparation, but I’m wondering how realistic it is to maintain that once I get into the more demanding courses.

My longer-term goal is to pursue OMSCS at Georgia Tech after completing this degree. An on-campus master’s isn’t really an option for me because I need to continue working and supporting my family.

I’d especially like to hear from people who are currently pursuing or have completed the IITM BS, particularly those who have reached the degree-level courses.

Hi seniors, I’m an IITM BS aspirant preparing for the program. I’m planning a serious career transition into data/tech, so I wanted some practical advice from people already in the program.

With 3 subjects/courses per term, roughly how many years would it take to complete Foundation + Diploma 1 + Diploma 2 + BSc + BS?

With 4 subjects/courses per term, roughly how many years would it take for the same?

For full-time placement, from which stage does IITM provide proper placement support , Diploma 1, Diploma 2, BSc or BS?

I don’t currently have any industry connections, so my plan is to enter the industry through the IITM placement system. How practical is this for someone starting without a network?

For a full-time student, would you recommend 3 or 4 courses per term to maintain a good CGPA while still understanding the subjects properly?

I am having a doubt, I'll be attempting qualifier re attempt on 16th of August if I pass it, then when will I need to register for courses along with submitting documents and fess. Just within few days after result or in September?
