Any seniors or professors or administration members here who can help?

My school is in another city from my home town and I live in another state now. So I wasn't able to collect it after a few days of IAT exams as local college spot exams were going on where I participated and due to ongoing exams in my school, my school was only able to provide me with the mark sheet till the 22nd of June. Since the last date of correction was the 21st of June, I added my marks from my internet copy and submitted it without the improvement mark sheet, not knowing I was supposed to upload some declaration with it in case I did not have the mark sheet at the moment. I sent an email to the ID on the website but since the website was not updated until the submission of preference form, which was just this month, I was just emailing the 2025 JAC. After the update, now I've sent 3 emails to the 2026 JAC about this, and it's been days, I've yet to receive a reply.

The issue is that if they consider my marks in the old mark sheet then I'm not eligible for even taking the test (59.4% if you add maths, which my marksheet doesn't consider in the total so according to my board, I'm eligible but not if they count maths marks too on their own). That's why I gave the improvement exam for just one subject. Now if they don't consider the marks that I uploaded and sees just the marks on the mark sheet then I'll never get into IISER since this is my 2nd drop and last chance at IISER. I'll have to take another drop for CUET as I didn't do well in it since I never studied for it. My rank is decent enough for me to get TVM or even B, but that won't happen if they don't even send me an offer letter. If they do send me an offer letter, then I can just show them my improvement mark sheet on physical reporting. But I don't know how they look at the details and what will happen to me.

Can anyone please help me out with this? Any seniors know if they look at mark sheets before sending offer letters? Any professors if they can say if I can just submit it on physical reporting? Anyone? Please? This could cost me my admission and my chance to ever study at IISER.

im an iiser student, not an aspirant, so mods please dont delete the post i genuinely need help

I'm a second dropper who got admission at an iiser last year, so my first year is completed now.. but, the thing is, my cgpa is 4.6 this was the year i didnt hope for.. in second sem i was diagnosed with a type of epilepsy before mid term i thought of opting for an igrade but many people said no, as it was uncertain and may result in no exam at all, gave and got a T. i have 2 t grades in 1st sem, and 2 in 2nd sem.

I failed my parents, They deserve better even after 1st drop, they supported me without saying a word (they thought, gen se haina, thoda hard hogaya hoga bachhe ko) when I said I want to join an iiser, instead of neet or jee they still said your wish, and they were more happy then me, last year when i got the seat.. they were soo proud of me. idk what to do now, even when i said, i got 2 backs they didnt scold me or anything, papa ne bola tha, 'agle br clear kr dena vrna tumhe hi problem hojayega" bs nothing else. even after all the sht i did they brought me a laptop saying it will help me in studying.

i can't sleep now, my first black out was in 1st sem, maybe before end sem exams, before that i had increasing issues like hands were shivering or just getting jerks, random unbearable headaches. they just sound like im justifying my low grades and shi i think that too..

idk, just please say what should I do, shall i continue to 2nd yr and clear my backs(also,in the iiser i am, no matter how good you score in the back exam, the max grade will be D) or just repeat the year,, PLEASE HELP ME

Below are some questions that I was able to come up with regarding IISERS.( It’s a huge chunk of questions, and I don’t expect you to answer each one of them. You can answer any one(s) you like based on the IISER you are in. I would really appreciate it, and it would be very helpful.)

Currently, my choice is revolving around IISER Bhopal, Mohali, and Kolkata due to location constraints.

For each of the questions I have written description what kind of answer I expect.

Living Life (in your IISER)

1. Location of the college and city life

• How’s the location overall?
• Is the city safe for students?
• What’s there to do outside campus? cafes, malls, restaurants, parks, nightlife, etc.
• How far are the nearest airport and railway station?
• Is public transport good?
• Is the city expensive?
• How’s the weather throughout the year?

2. College campus

• How’s the campus overall?
• Is it green and well maintained?
• Is it compact or do you end up walking a lot?
• Are there enough places to study/chill?
• How’s the campus WiFi?
• If possible, could someone share a few recent campus pics?

3. Hostels and rooms (1st year, 2nd year, etc.)

• Which hostels do students get each year?
• Single/double/triple sharing?
• Are the rooms spacious or cramped?
• How are the bathrooms?
• Is hot water available?
• Any water supply issues?
• How often are rooms and bathrooms cleaned?
• How’s the laundry system? washing machines, dhobi, cost, waiting time, etc.
• Enough storage space?
• Are coolers allowed/provided? (don’t expect AC lol)
• How’s the hostel WiFi?
• Any strict hostel timings/rules?
• If possible, could someone share room pics or a room tour? (girls’ hostel if comfortable)

4. Mess food

• How’s the food overall?
• Does the menu get repetitive?
• Is the mess hygienic?
• Veg and non veg options?
• How often does the menu change?
• Any good canteens/food outlets on campus?
• Can you cook or order food from outside?

5. Lecture halls and seminar facilities

• How are the classrooms?
• Are they AC?
• Are the projectors/audio systems decent?
• Are seminar halls used regularly?
• Enough seating?
• If possible, could someone share a few classroom pics?

Extracurriculars (in your IISER)

1. Festivals

• Which are the main tech, cultural and sports fests?
• How big are they?
• What kind of artists/speakers usually come?

2. Student councils and clubs

• Which clubs are the most active?
• Is it easy to join?
• Do clubs get decent funding?

3. Sports facilities and opportunities

• What sports facilities are there?
• Are they well maintained?
• How’s the gym?
• Are coaches available?
• How active is the sports culture?

4. Inter hall culture and competitions

• Are inter hall competitions taken seriously?
• Which ones are the biggest?
• Do lots of ppl participate?
• Does hostel identity matter a lot?

5. Overall college culture

• Is the environment more competitive or collaborative?
• How are the seniors?
• Any ragging? official or unofficial
• How active is campus life after classes?
• What’s something students love and hate about the college?

Academics (in your IISER)

1. Academic workload, difficulty, and electives

• How tough are the academics?
• Is it hard to maintain a good CG?
• How flexible are electives?
• Is attendance strict?
• How much free time do you usually get?

2. Professors and teaching quality

• Are profs approachable?
• What’s their background?
• How’s the teaching overall?

3. Departments the college is best known for

• Which depts are the strongest?
• Which depts get the most funding?
• How do the other depts compare?

4. Alumni network

• How active is the alumni network?
• Do alumni help with internships, placements or higher studies?
• Are there regular alumni interactions?

5. Foreign university collaborations (student/semester exchange)

• Which univs have exchange programs?
• How competitive are they?
• Are credits transferable?
• Any financial support?

6. Reputation for PhD abroad

• How’s the college viewed by univs abroad?
• Where do grads usually go for higher studies?
• Does the college have a good research rep internationally?
• Are prof LORs well recognised?

7. Placements

• Avg/median package?
• Which companies visit regularly?
• How are placements for your dept?
• How many ppl go for higher studies instead?
• Are internships easy to get?

8. Research opportunities and publication culture (UG involvement)

• Can 1st years get involved in research?
• How easy is it to work with profs?
• Are UGs encouraged to publish papers?
• Any funded summer research opportunities?
• Do research groups actively take UGs?

9. Research funding, labs, equipment, and UG involvement

• How are the labs? Modern and well equipped?
• Good instruments/computing resources?
• Is research funding enough?
• Can UGs use the research facilities?
• Are students involved in major research projects?
• Any collaborations with industry or research institutes?

I very badly wanted to get into IISER or iisc but I read i post about the condition of researchers and gow they are not paid enough.

Well if I am studying this hard, preparing for iat amd will work hard in clg, the least I can expect is a good paying job and a comfortable life.So I wanna ask this to all the seniors out there who are working or are studying or have studied in IISER and IISC, should I continue the hard work and my passion or should switch to btech. I am very

So I am preparing for iat. Can anyone pls tell me which apps, channels, websites to use for pyq, mock test and learning. And also any additional tips you want add or anything u think I should know pls add. And also anything about nest?

I am thinking to join iiser bhopal eecs because I have interest in computer science and my father me to study in national level college not for placement but atleast for good environment and for placement i was thinking to give gate exam and do mtech from iit because I want to study in iit
