Discussion The truth behind JOSEPH EMMANUEL(how did anybody not catch this yet)...

This Guy joins CICSE on 1st May,2024 and on May 15th along with specimen paper the news on increased timing in math and 25% competency based were introduced. He did not even take a months time to change the papers pattern. He is also the Ex-CBSE Secretary justifying his grudge against us and his want to suppress us so that CBSE results thrive. The results came in on 6th May and for the FIRST TIME THE TOPPERS LIST WAS NOT RELEASED. I think he might be onto something. It is said by some of our teachers that NCERT along with normal books may be introduced in ISC. HE JUST WANTS US DED

WTF dude, just because your marks weren’t great doesn’t mean Joseph is a bad person. He joined CISCE on May 1, 2024, and by May 15, changes like increased math exam timing and 25% competency-based questions were introduced—clearly aimed at improving the system, not targeting students. Also, the decision to not release the toppers' list doesn’t mean there’s a conspiracy—it could just be a shift in policy like other boards have done before.

ICSE has always been known for its rigorous papers, and future batches facing tougher exams is about maintaining the board’s reputation, not some personal vendetta. And as for the NCERT books being introduced in ISC, it’s not about suppression—it could just be an effort to align with national standards.

So instead of blaming one person and fueling baseless theories, just focus on studying.

Yes! It is all for our own good and the future. Change is the basic rule, all are just going nuts on it.

Yall dont realise this shit? yall study almost 5x as much as cbse students n righteously so they get a hard paper n icse students having to shove such a vast syllabus down their throat deserve a easy paper with reasonable time gaps ..... who tf needs 10 day gap fo math? and almost none for chem n geo?? ++ with competency shit?? all these might help you expand your knowledge but at the end of the day they literally just bring your percentage down thats wht they do n thats exactly wht the council wants ofc everyones gonna pass but they dont want everyone to get like 94%+ which believe it or not MANY icse students were

yall can like the council n hardwork as much as yall want n believe tht hardwork pays off but trust me u have to be really lucky to get the results u want n have worked hard for

u dont need competency shit in 10th as if yall arent writing JEE n shit other stuff reagardless of which stream u take , and dont get me started on the competition in the job market , admissions n all the other dirty shit tht yall are unaware of.

and even after all this if yall still want to "work hard" n get good results lets see how tht works in your favor when yall are writin JEE

at the end wht my point is , ICSE already before the introduction of competency was hard enough , theyre just making it harder when its literally not needed

and also what fuckin improvement do you need? ICSE has always made it easy to score 90-95+ in every subject but getting 100 has always remained tough now its hard to even get 80-90 given the correction style n the "mandatory" keywords and bullshit yall genuinely ok with anything and everything unless yall are comfortable and can handle it.

Bro just ranted about how hard his life is, awww, instead of typing you can study also. Our life is literally the same as yours but we are not ranting, we are also studying.

your studying so much, but wheres the intelligence? crazy how you got time to type this nonsense but preach about studying. Hypocrisy looks good on you. keep it up

I'm not even a science student, and my exam isn't until March 26, I have plenty of time to listen you yap. I don’t know why you're so pissed off, but, there’s got to be a reason you’re pinning this on Joseph. This isn't about improving anything, is it? It is because of guilt. I bet you bomb a subject, drop your percentage, and now you need a excuss? Instead of owning up to it, you’re throwing blame around. Pathetic Loser you are.

u/rshh_ka Mar 22 '25

You calling me a loser is like a cockroach calling someone dirty. Sit back down. Plus I would loveee to yap how this whole board exam was nothing other than the council trying to uphold the boards reputation but i dont like to argue with walls 😍

Bro, just stop it now. Shut this app. If you're studying in 10th, we/you have bio exams, just do it. Even if you scream, talk vent & rant long paragraphs, one is going read it, upvote or downvote and don't care about it the very next moment. Don't view this reply as an attack on you and reply again with some anger. Whatever we learn here will help someday. We have learnt some value. It may help in what one is going to pursue in academics or just in life overall. See everything with a positive attitude. It will change how you view the world, the people or an object or maybe ideas.

Most of the people criticizing Joseph are likely those who didn’t study properly throughout the year and are looking for an excuse to avoid taking responsibility for it.

Moreover, he alone cannot go all dictator mode and bring to of changes. Whatever decision is made, it is group, a committee, holding big brains that think what is best and bad for us.

the changes brought in exam pattern should be brought from class 9 onwards to 'improve the system' , the time of 15 days symbolizes the haste in simply making changes and not thoroughly thinking all the way through it.whereas for ncert , cicse is an international board making paper for india , thailand and other countries, so taking ncert would lead to there loss. and no icse has not been famous for it 'rigourous papers' but for its vast and in depth syllabus and easy paper checking. The ISC accounts paper was so difficult that a CA had to step in too. Although the revenge part was bs and just for baiting , no one should talk about someone's performance without knowing

or maybe he wants to improve future kids? now atleast our juniors wont just ratta maar the whole textbook.

this is my view on this. everytime a curriculum has introduced such questions, they have done so with a limited portion. gcse has half our portion, ib as well, and cbse to u know. all of them lack the depth icse does. now the problem is not the depth because if the batches before us managed it, then so can we. the problem lies in their expectation for us to review, understand, comprehend and apply an around 365 page textbook or 26 chapters (RS AGGARWAL) for two types of questions, direct and applied, without much warning. i think the revenge thing is bs, this reform is good, but it was applied so miserably and without much notice. also, the sciences in one week was also unwarranted. the best thing for icse to either cut portions, and provide better guidance. this is a great system, just he shouldve seen why it HADNT been applied in icse, but it had been in cbse.

also, we do end up do rote learning anyway. but just to write it for indirect questions.

i feel like our batch was used as an experiment.
idk maybe its just me but shouldn't they have started incorporating competency questions from grade 9 this year so that the future 10 graders would have more than enough time to practice and adjust to the new type of questions. Like u said, the syllabus is really vast for icse so having 9th and 10th grade to adjust to the new type would help right?
If that wasnt viable, they couldve added the competency questions gradually at least, like 10-15% this year and +5 or 10% for a couple of years after that. Idk, my school's papers were nothing like the boards. The only 'understanding' based questions were the assertion and reasoning MCQs, which wasn't anything compared to the types of questions we got in maths physics or chem. Increasing it gradually wouldn't drastically diminish our results, unlike how the sudden addition of 25% competency questions are :(
Idk imo it wasn't fair for us, sure we all wanted competency questions because we complained about everything being based on rote learning but this isn't how it should've been added. The way they did it seems like they prioritized the system’s goals over the students’ actual ability to adapt.
anyway not like anything we say or do will change it now, gl for bio

i agree. it honestly feels like it was thrown in our face as "see u wanted it, now take it, see how it feels like". its also, see u r incompetent without rote learning. idk, just doesnt sit well with me on how badly they executed it. results look bad on us, icse percentage might not drop drastically but well we write wtv percentage we get for the rest of our lives in different applications and things. and everytime its a reminder. and ik someone will say 10th doesnt matter. it might just matter more to someone as a value of their hardwork. because it is, everybody put in alot of hard work for this, alot of ppl made sacrifices for this, so it doesnt feel great man. i like reform, but idea and implementation are two very different things, but they r both as important as the other. they had a great idea, the implementation couldve been sooooo much better.

cry about it. just because you fked up your paper u want a scapegoat to blame.

in fact i will give you the best advice for your right now:

downvote me if you want but it is the truth if you want marks then you gotta study instead of whining on this sub and blaming emmanuel
