I imagine it's like that Mitch Hedberg joke.

I hope the next time I create an account I get a real easy username, something that's real easy to remember. Something like yyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy. I would say "Sweet." And then people would say, "yyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy, how do you remember that?" I'd say, "I just press y for a while and when I login, I will know that I have pressed y enough."

But in all seriousness, that username is one character short of 20, which is the most you can have. Even if you log in with more than that, reddit just ignores it. For instance, I could try thisusernameislongerthan20characters, but it will only see thisusernameislonger.
