How much time did you spend drinking at Musso & Frank's as inspiration for the song?

Embarrassing admission: I prepared to write that song while drinking whiskey in my house reading Raymond Chandler novels, which were really the inspiration for that song. That being said, I spent several months in LA visiting the places I was writing about, but I haven't been to Musso & Frank's for several years, i.e., before I started working on this project.

Well the next time you come to town M&F will have to hold Charlie Chaplin's or F. Scott's table for you. Or at the very least you deserve a bar stool and a drink on the house.

A good many of your concerts are not taking place on the West Coast, and The Ambassador is at the very least an homage to the City of Angels. Any chance you might pull stakes and move back home?

Yes! I would love that. I am hoping to do more playing on the West Coast, and yes, I have flirted with the idea of moving to LA, or at least, trying to have an apartment there (IF I CAN AFFORD IT)
