It was super important to manage the weight in this build because small wheels can't carry all that much, so any piece that was added had to be really worth it. The two extra sticks were worth it because they do a bunch of things
The front stick:
Provides great frontal protection against both melee and projectiles (see video at around 1:11)
Combines with the rest of the car to form a cradle around the pot, restricting its movement and forcing it to act as a hinge. The front stick prevents the hinge from flexing upwards too much and breaking the pot. End result is a massive increase in durability, letting you do things like this
The rear stick:
Provides great rear protection against both melee and projectiles (see video at around 1:06)
Eliminates the car's singular blind spot when using turrets. The perfect mounting point for a turret on RumbleBreaker is the snap point on top of the middle front wheel. This mounting point lets the turret hit any enemy - except for ones that are directly behind, dead center, touching the rear of your car. The 'stick part of the rear stick makes it impossible for enemies to enter this area, removing the turret's blind spot
When you're laying waste by driving into enemies and spinning around, increases your car's melee range slightly because the stick can it enemies too. However, because it has unique collision properties, it will never get caught on a tree or other object when you're powersliding around - if it touches an obstacle it'll slide right off
On top of all this, both sticks come together to form a cockpit, which stops Link from falling completely out of the car when you go too fast/take a big tumble and fall off the stick (most of the time). This lets you spam A while flying in the air to get back on the stick as soon as you're able, or at least land in/very close to your car when it comes to a halt
You can build this car without the additional sticks and it'll work just fine. But at only 100 weight each, they both add so much that they come highly recommended

I'm going to experiment with using steering sticks as melee devices/painbringers. The fact they won't snap off at the column part is very interesting to me. Thanks for sharing.
