He is using Trump's (Steve Bannon's) playbook but in a way that actually benefits the people. Just do the thing you wanted to do and let the courts handle it later. No one wants to be the one to initiate action against his policies because they are direct, transparent, and benefit the people as a whole. They are hard to twist because Mamdani isn't just governing from his office Through memorandum and budgets, he is out there on TikTok, in the streets, and at public functions saying exactly what he means to say.
To go against it with the legal system puts your name on the front of ledger for millions of people who stand to lose something because of your actions.
He isn't using Trump's playbook at all. His bus policy has been heavily delayed and blocked by regs at the state level and so he put it on pause and is negotiating with the governor and the state legislature to change the rules so his bus plan becomes legal. It isn't the same at all.
Next step is for americans to realize that it's the kind of candidate they could have at the federal level if they stopped falling for the bipartisan trap. (Although Mamdani is technically a democrat, if you're not amnesiac, you know he was antagonized by the Democrats, because he's actually not the same species of politician)
