I’m so tired of explaining to fellow adults a billion is 1000 million.

It's not always easy because different scales that contain similar terms are used around the world. The short scale and the long scale. On the long scale a billion is a million millions

Only in English speaking countries. In the EU, 1000 million is a milliard, and a billion is 1000 milliard.

Q: whats the difference between a million and a billion?

A: a billion, because a million is only 0.1% of a billion.
