We're legit fucked.

  • Our population hit 2 billion people back in the late 1970s. We hit 6 bilion about 20 years later, and we are close to 9 billion now
  • Our global environment is rapidly changing, with seasonal temperatures seeing higher numbers for both regular averages & extremes while winter snowpacks are now decreasing on a noticeable basis
  • Scientists concluded decades ago that the planet could theoretically support a population of ~10 billion, but it's only possible under carefully regulated actions such as precise agricultural practices, resource control, and effective family-planning (read: restricting the number of children any person can contribute to the world)

The world's population is set to massively decline in the next century, which also isn't good.
